Well the redbacks lost the match....it is pretty hard to tell if you read the scores on cricket.com.au however. Unless you read the commentary you don't even know who wins....QLD only scored 159 off 28 overs....but lost due to the duckworth lewis method but the cricket.com.au doesn't explain it whatsoever...

Qld won

I thought the D/L method was the fairest out and I still do, just has one or two quirks which need explaining to me

SA finish their innings after 39 overs at 203

Qld walk out , with no interruptions whatever, having to face 39 overs..you would think they would be chasing 203...no they had to get 198 to win???

Good to see a new face get some runs and hopefully he has a solid career for SA

just for us South Aussie fans wondering about Duckworth/Lewis and why Queensland had to chase a few runs less than us at the beginning of their innings - here is the calculations for you: (i posted this in the chat about the game on the Cricket board too)

South Australia: 100% resources available at start of match (50 Overs - 10 wickets in hand)

remaining at suspension: 55.7% (32.3 Overs remaining - 4 wickets down)
- remaining at resumption (now 39 Overs) 47.5% (21.3 Overs remaining - 4 wickets down)

= Percentage lost due to Suspension 8.2% of Play

Therefore: 100% - 8.2% equals 91.8% of Innings SA received

Team Two's Starting Percentage (39 Overs - 10 Wickets in Hand) is 88%

SA's final score: 203 (91.8% of innings) - 3.8% (91.8% - 88% - starting percentage of 2nd innings) = 197 to tie (198 to win)

confused? yeah. no doubt. i just did that manually - match referees have computers they can put it through to do it all for them.

of course it changed again after the QLD rain delay, but these were the calculations at the beginning of their innings

We were also unable to use our batting powerplay which probably wouldve given us a few runs. It was funny to see Dudcock pull a swifty when they went to use theres though, replacing Cullen with Harris just as hes about to bowl, I had a chuckle. The odds were pretty much always against us to win the game but to get down to pretty well the last over I thought we did ok.

Cosgrove needs to keep the gastro around for another 3 months so he can lose som more weight. He stayed on the field to bowl and that was about it. I thought Diz bowled well and Taity was pretty quick early on but the amount of overs they could bowl really cost us in the end. Good to see Christian get amongst the runs for us, pretty lucky early on but he settled in and made a good score, highest of the game. But I thought he was supposed to be pretty swift mediums ?? He has one of the worst bowling actions ive ever seen and bowls half volleys !!! Still good on him for making a few and hopefully he can carry that form into the next match.

game washed away today against New South Wales.

it seems to be raining in every place in Australia except here in Adelaide.

we move on.

well we're now 181/6 and Western Australia actually have to bat again!

Dizzy and Choc are in now, followed by Rhino and Dan. we've got a chance here!

No we don't ..

Manou gone for 5

7/193

Adcock needs to go, Manou made another shit score and it's beyond a joke now, scored one century but since then he has produced nothing but garbage.

i spoke far far far far far far far too soon

all out for 208

WA need 61 to win off about 129 overs

currently they are 3/0

My gosh if only Adcock batted as lucky as he bowled he would have had a very good average this season....

2 wickets to him already.

But how come he didn't bat in the top 5?

I tell you what IF we can beat Queensland on Sunday we move to 2nd on the table...... could the unthinkable happen ??

The Vics still have games to play but it would put us in the box seat to make the final, and if we werent screwed out of the points against NSW we could have been in an even stronger position.

Great batting performance by the boys, even Harris who struggled like crazy early on and was plum LB IMO but made a decent contribution. I think the reason Christian came up the order (apart from form) was that quick runs were needed in the batting powerplay and he is a very attacking batsmen. Both he and Ferg ran between the wickets very well, put immense pressure on WA. And even after dropping a couple of sitters the lads kept their heads and fielded really well after that. Adcock for all this failings bowled quite well until they took the hammer to him but 3fer is a great effort, and I wish Diz would actually try and hit the stumps because I was getting a tad nervous towards the end !!!

Great win by the Redbacks :thumbsu:

Things didnt go our way against Queensland either, what with the rain shortened game where we couldnt use the powerplay. We were always up against it that night and we were 6 balls away from winning it, even after the D/L system worked heavily in their favour.

Hopefully we can give them a little payback and beat them Sunday and get a bit of a break on the field in second spot. The only day of the week I wouldnt like it to rain :D. Hopefully they can kick off my Chrissy week with a victory !!!
