Maybe Deitz was picked for the Keeper's role, and Manou as a bastman?

Great to get 450 after being 6/95. A really up and down innings, started well, went downhill as usual, and then the tail delivers. AGAIN. :thumbsu: Good to see our bowlers are very capable batters.
 
Great innings there by Choc, pity he couldnt get to the double ton but what a match saving innings and partnership with Diz. I bet Pointyhead thought his bowlers were going to run through us this morning but theyve stayed most of the day out in the field. Now fire up Taity and lets get some points from this game.

Forget about being an all rounder i think dizzy has his eye on Langers old spot:D Amazing effort by the redbacks but what has Brett Geeves done wrong not to get a bowl. 5/49 off 15 is hardly over bowled but maybe Ponting wanted to just use him on the bunnies at the top of the order:D

Manou is with 206 but Gillespie is on 185.

Very happy for Choco because he's always had the talent, but he's very-much a confidence player. Hopefully this is the barrier he needed to break through to finally produce what we know he can.

Looking at it from a broader perspective, it's still a sad state of affairs that we were 6/92 at one stage with five batsmen failing.

BTW this is our highest score since 2005/06, when we scored 7d/541 v NSW after Deitz, Cam Borgas and Cossie made tons. That season had plenty of good memories, as we scored 638 v Tassie in Hobart earlier in the season after Cam Borgas and Boof made centuries. Choco made 91 in that game.

It's stumped me. Rhino has been one of our form bowlers this season and the end of last.

Saw Diva bat in Brisbane two weeks ago v Qld under the pump and looked in scintillating touch. Scored 180 odd. Is as valuable wicket as Ponting's.
 
Is Lehmann not sending down his left arm pies this year? Ponting would dine on him after facing Harbajhan and Karthik. Agreed though we need at least 2 wickets before stumps.

Graham Manou (184) and Jason Gillespie (93) have today broke the all time record for the 8th wicket partnership for South Australian first class cricket

beating the 222 set by Mick Miller and Brad Young against Queensland here in Adelaide 2002/03

None of the bowlers who are supposed to be in the reckoning for the test side arent having that great a time. Tait, Hilfy, Macgill, Lee, Johnson all bowling tripe. Clark and Hogg look the goods but thats it. If Ponting isnt out soon theyll make our total with ease, hell he could even do it himself.
