Say it isn't so, Boof.

One of the finest cricketers our state has ever produced. A great way to go out in his one-day domestic career.

Onya Boof, going out in style:

"That was the highest chase in the history of this comp (prev 3/298 WA v TAS, Perth, 2003/04), the highest score at Adelaide (prev 7/307 by SA v VIC, 1997/98) and the highest stand ever for any SA wicket (prev 217*, Lehmann & Nobes v TAS, Adelaide, 1994/95)"(Cricket.com.au)

Good on Elliot for standing up for the great man as well.

Congrats Boof!:thumbsu:

That was One-Day batting at its finest. Boof and Herbie both take a bow. You guys have put us in the record books and for a change its all good. Brilliant innings strategy too holding off the batting powerplay til late on. Lets hope this is the start of something good for the Redbacks but I fear it was all due to emotion, and its all a false dawn. Still, a magnificent stand by the old guard and a fitting farewell to the one-day game for DS Lehmann.

Ronchi was always going to drop that.

the ball coming out of the lights is what caused him to lose it

Fantastic game of cricket!

Got home about 30 minutes ago. What a brilliant game of cricket! :thumbsu:

Lehmann you dead set LEGEND! :thumbsu: What an unbelievable innings it was and the crowd was great. Everyone was going nuts and when he brought up his century, it really was incredible stuff.

Elliot also superb but it was Boof’s day. Along with the 5th day of last years Adelaide test, that’s the best game I’ve seen. :)

So why's he ****en retiring ???

If you read between the lines, which in this case is not hard to do, he's pretty well being forced out. Something was said last night that I took a bit of notice too, should he pull the pin now and not play the Shield game ?? No doubt the guy wont be able to walk today after the masterclass last night and he probably wouldnt make it through 4 days, especially given how long we'll end up fielding. Of course it would have to be his decision and he would want badly to play. Personally id love to see him play and do what he did last night but it is food for thought, let him go out on the highest of highs.

I was thinking the same thing.

Taity's pulled out of the game on the advice of Cricket Australia. They don't think he's fit enough to get through the 4-day game and Rofe will take his spot. That was mentioned by the guys during the telecast last night and I have to say I agree with them. He wasnt bowling flat out and I dont think it would have been wise to play him in the Shield game.

injuries wearing down the old man and a liability in the field.

can still bat though obviously.

with the way he's been playing lately in grade cricket and for SA i can't see him lasting out a 4 day game. who knows.

That is the first true sporting moment where I can say I was there when... that was by far the greatest game of cricket I have ever watched! Nothing could of topped that.

I was in the members, got to shake the great mans hand as he came off the field. The roar that went up when Ronchi dropped the catch was great and the roar when he got his ton was unreal.

Just a great night!
