BB01 Team of the week

This may be 3 weeks late, but I will be going through the results of both games and selecting a team of the week based on how the players performed.

I will try my best to select players in their actual position, but it may be hard, so I'll try and get it as accurate as possible.

Team of the week round 1. Week 1 saw the revamping of BigFooty's fantasy cricket league and with it, some brand new stars! Rookie keeping sensation Kirkswan lead the way with the bat peeling off an unbeaten 74 in a successful run chase against the Kangaroos. KohPhi and Barrybran were also great with the willow in hand scoring 71 and 69 respectively. Quadzilla, akkaps and Spanna_ were the chief destroyers with the ball in hand, each claiming 3 wickets a piece for their respective clubs.

Team of the week round 2.

It only took 2 games to see the newly reformed BB01's first triple digit score from a batsman. Nakia and Headless both passed the milestone in their respective games, with the former finishing on 102 unbeaten, the latter 105. Fizzler (79) turned it on to combine with Nakia for a 148 run opening stand for the Bolts. KohPhi and Van_Dyke were both just 4 runs short of bring up their tons in reply, with Van_dyke running out of overs while KohPhi chipped a nice little return catch to Kangaroos captain akkaps. akkaps RCK teammate Sterge was the number one bowler in week two, claiming league best figures of 5/25 from his 4 overs. It was a quiet week for the rock 'n' rollers, with only 4 wickets (2 run outs) in the Bolts vs Whales game, while Frankston Rover again proved fruitful for the Bounders claiming 3 scalps.

Team of the week round 3.

Week 3 saw the largest T20 score in the (short) history of BB01, with the Melbourne Bolts posting a mammoth 7/247 from their 20 overs. The main culprit was wicket-keeper/batsman TJASTA who blitzed a whopping 130 from just 56 balls while batting at no. 5. With the score at 3/7, TJ joined Sab22 at the crease and over the next 15 overs, the two put on 162 runs with Sab finally bowled for 79. In reply, Ant Bear put on a brave display, scoring 81 from 57 at the top of the order, but the score of 247 was simply way to much for the Roos as they limped through to 5/169 after their 20. A half-century from The Filth Wizard was impressive, but it was Hatchy1992 with ball in hand that provided the highlights for the second innings, claiming figures of 3/37 from his 4 overs to guide his side to the win. In the other game, it was the Whales, at home for the first time that took care of the Blue Mountain Bounders thanks largely to a quality bowling attack and a fantastic half century at the top of the order to Van_Dyke. The Whales innings started off in fine form with Van_Dyke continuing his hot form to become the competitions leading run scoring, with a knocks of 78 from 48 balls faced. The rest of the inning thought through beautifully with fitzroybowiedog placing the ball into the gaps to score a handy 40 in the lower order. SparkleNarkle was excellent with the ball, claiming an equal league high 5 wickets from his 4 overs.
In reply, there was not much to speak of from the Bounders batsman, with big_j (40), TheHairyGamer and PeanutButter Pies (35 each) the top scorers for the innings. Ljp86 lead a the Whales bowling attack superbly, picking up 3 scalps to go along with Quadzilla and Shermy (2 each).

Correct :hearts:

You were in line for a week 3 spot, not too sure how I feel about that now...

I've been shite, went in hoping to be Rashid Khan and turned out to be Cameron Boyce.

Team of the week round 4.

Four weeks down, and only 2 to go before the final, the competition is heating up near the top of the table. The Bounders upset the Bolts at home, defeating them by just 8 runs after posting an incredible 2/223 from their 20 overs. All-rounder Frankston Rover was elevated to opener for this match and did not disappoint, scoring a more than handy 56 from just 22 balls faced. It was the top order combo of sportsmaniac89 (84 off 45)and big_j (70 off 44) that helped the Bounders cruise to their biggest score of the comp. For much of the Bolts innings, the score of 220+ seemed too far out of reach, but some late hitting from best opening pair in the competition (Nakia and Fizzler) nearly saw the Bolt overcome the deficit. With 16 overs bowled and the required rate north of 17 runs per over, the leagues most dominant bat, Nakia, stepped to the fore. Hitting 24 runs from the next Nunez over saw the score somewhat reachable if the two continued to bat the way they were going. Two overs later and it was Frankston Rover that went for 23 runs, however took the important scalp of Nakia. SparkleNarkle did the rest, taking 2/7 from the last over to seal the victory. In the second game, the Whales were without their leader, iBeng, due to flipper soreness in their match-up with the Kangaroos at home. The Roos batted first on what seemed like a batting friendly deck, and managed to post a score of just 4/156 from their allotted overs. Lead by opening pair Ant Bear (55 off 52) and Cloud_ (63 off 42), the foundation was set for the lower order to capitalise on the great start, however they faultered and stuttered towards the end, losing 4/33 in the last 5 overs of the game. Fill in skipper, The Half Back, entered the game in a bit of a slump, managing less than 25 runs in his first three hits of the season. The added weight of captaining the side seemed to help the star Left-Handed opener as he cruised his way to an unbeaten 69(49) to lead the successful run chase. Having torched two teammates early on, Halfie batted strongly with rookie wicket keeper Kirkswan (59 off 35) and the experienced campaigner Karnezis_13 got his new side over the line, smashing 16 from just 4 balls to end the game.
