Broadmeadows left looking for answers.
Last week Melton was embarrassed by an impressive Northcote outfit. Today, however, Melton showed glimpses of good form, easily accounting for a miserable Broadmeadows side. Melton, with four players scoring three goals, Hall, Burgoyne, Davis and Power, played far better than they did the previous week, outclassing a pathetic Broadmeadows side by a lazy twenty-six points. The win leaves Melton just three points (for) outside the top three, and challenging for a finals birth.
Coach of Melton, X_Box_X, had this to say about Melton’s emphatic victory.
“Look, obviously we had an extremely disastrous game last week, and I wasn’t going to accept any slacking off this week. Right from the word go we played far more superior than Broadmeadows, unlike last week when we were totally annihilated by a classy Northcote outfit, with Carey and Neitz leading the way. I just wanted to get an early win on the board and show PC that he has a long way to go before his team is a chance of finishing in the top five.”
After the game, PC was totally disgusted, looking ashamed whilst driving his blue commodore, RYI 263, back to Broadmeadows.
“I really wanted to win this game. Xie is an awesome coach and has a good talent of players, and I thought if I could get my side over the line that we’ll be a huge chance of qualifying for the finals. However, unfortunately, Xie was just extraordinary and totally out-classed me in every way possible.” The 23-year-old stated.
For Melton and X_Box_X, it was just about stamping their authority and wanting some recognition. After a dismal performance the previous week from Whitnall and Riewoldt, X_Box_X was left asking questions after those players looked sick. Then, this week, they didn’t do much better, especially Whitnall.
“Whitnall has been around to the “Fat Farm” and that is the reason why he has not been performing. I might give him a rest in the reserves next week to see if he can get some form there. The same will probably apply for Riewoldt, with Hamill and Steve Johnson coming in.”
In other games, 66,700 people turned out to see the top of the ladder clash between Footscray and Yarragon. Stephen Milne’s five goals weren’t enough to get Yarragon the four points. Footscray did it in a titanic struggle by four points.
Also, Merino, thanks to Fevola, bounced back to secure their first win, beating Northcote by thirteen points.
Footscray has clearly proved that they are the team to beat, being the only unbeaten side. Whilst a disgraceful Broadmeadows side, led by a ****y coach in PC, is winless.
Next week shapes up to be a thriller.
