Given what international duties end up doing to squads, and how ordinary an eight team competition is, here's what a six team competition could look like, not even accounting for imports, and anyone on Australian duty or being rested in brackets:

New South Wales
Hughes
Watson
Larkin
Henrqiues
Sangha
Sams
Lenton+
Green
Abbott
O'Keefe
Dwarshius

(Smith, Warner, Hazlewood, Cummins, Starc, Lyon)

Queensland
Bryant
Dunk
Lynn
Heazlett
Peirson+
Cutting
Wildermuth
Neser
Swepson
Doggett
Steketee

(Khawaja, Stanlake)

South Australia
Weatherald
Head
Ferguson
Cooper
Ross
Neilsen+
Valente
Botha?
K Richardson
Laughlin?
Mennie

(Carey, Zampa)

Tasmania
Wade+
McDermott
Doolan
Bailey
Silk
Milenko
Faulkner
Boyce
Rose
Meredith
Bird

(Paine)

Victoria
Harris
Harvey
Maddinson
Harper
White
Gotch+
Christian
Pattinson
Siddle
Beer
Boland

(Finch, Handscomb, Maxwell)

Western Australia
Bancroft+
Short
Whiteman
Cartwright
Turner
Phillipe
A Agar
Coulter-Nile
Kelly
Tye
Paris

(S Marsh, M Marsh, Stoinis, Richardson, Behrendorff)

I reckon that's already looking like a better competition. Over sooner with less teams too. South Australia is the only team that desperately needs imports, and there's no reason states could choose to have T20-only contracts, as they already have List A-only contracts.

Now lets also assume that CA did the logical thing at some stage and free'd up the calendar to allow Australia's best players to play. NSW vs Victoria would probably sell out the MCG

The Scorchers side will be the best in the comp after the ODI s are finished.

.
Bancroft
S Marsh
Cartwright
Turner
M Marsh

Willey
Coulter nile

Qadir

Picked Willey ahead of Richardson to give the side more batting depth.
Feel like the side needs a leg spinner for variety, so qadir got picked ahead of Richardson.
Klinger just missed out on a spot to Cartwright.

Day night test in Brisbane.
But there are still games on the 24th, 27th and 28th

Now the game on the 24th and 28th are due to start at the end of the days play in the test, but the 27th will clash and is a Ch7 game!

Unless they are planning on a 3 day test!!!

Would play Richardson ahead of Willey, who doesn’t make any runs anyway.

Scorchers still in with a good chance to win it, that side listed is probably just as good as the Australian T20 side that gets rolled out. Don't rate Qadir though and Willey shouldn't be batting any higher than 9.

I think you are right, Richardson will be in the team.
M Marshs batting form is a bit of a worry, with Richardson in the team as well he won't needed as bowling option.

Actually think they will leave qadir out and pick are extra batsman as well, probably whiteman.
