Never played before, what’s the general strategy in terms of which player archetypes to choose? Does much translate over from the AFL version?

Are we taking Shaheen Afridi? Can whack a ball but Id imagine he would be batting behind the likes of a Neser and an Xavier Bartlett.

I personally think he is going to get whacked big time at the GABBA. Probably a no for me.

With the draw it seems a no-brainer to front load the first 3 rounds with Hobart Hurricanes players. Tim David, Ellis and Chaudhary look like looks and I reckon Mitch Owen continues on from his breakout season last year.

Tim David may be a wait and see. From what I read from Honeyball tonight, he is likely to play the early stages of the ILT20. The earliest that tournament ends is in late December for the regular season games.

I will start the season again until I get ranked outside 2000 and give up.

Starting combo looks like

6 hurricanes
4 sixers
2 heat (for round 2)
3 thunder (for round 2)
2 stars and 6 hobart (for round 3)

Thinking of going five hurricanes and going another heat.

maxwell i would trade in at the end of round 2 for his double and will work on trading scorchers in.

Dont want to be looking too far ahead but weather in Sydney is looking rather 'meh' this week and they are forecasting rain on the day of Sixers v Adelaide. Might be a bit of food for though with lineups for Round 1.

Makes things interesting. Check the weather forecast on Sunday. if it says 80% of showers, I will only play one sixer and bring in a couple of Heat players.

I am going to start with three stars for their round 3 double. Maxwell, Clarke and Curran. They are the only Stars worth owning. May as well hold all three from the start, because as I am not starting with any scorchers at this stage, I can slowly bring them in.

My thinking is if the Sixers play a game in Perth and even are manage to squeeze in half a game in their 2nd match of the 1st round, it will still be worthwhile to have a few Sixers. eg think Dwashuis, or that tall blonde lad who bowls pace and bats 3/4- name fades me now.

Edwards.

I agree. Him and Dwarshius if it looks like they may get play in their second game, but if the weather is still iffy for that game come Sunday, I will be taking out Azam for Warner or a heat player. It's too early to tell if it will be wet next Wednesday or whenever it is. Wait until Sunday and then make the call.

i love PODing foreign spinners no-one has heard of before
usually doesn't work but it's fun
He will get 4 overs pretty much every game I sense, which will probably come at the cost of Chaudharys bowling in my opinion this season.

Hossain I sense will bat around 8 , can whack the ball.

Will Sutherland anyone?

All Rounders look like a must-play for Geelong. Sutherland if I am reading correctly has the number 6 position this season according to Sports Code.

The top 4 scorers in the Geelong opener last season were bowlers. Its a very much a bowler-friendly wicket. Scoring last year:

Tom Rogers got Player of the Match, but was the 4th highest scorer.
