Damian is helping out with more than just the pitch for these matches. The following is some info I shared the other day elsewhere -

Hough is still Adelaide Ovals head curator, but he's also now the KP Stadium curator with his involvement extending beyond the pitch for the BBL

The Kardinia Park precinct is run by the KP Stadium Trust and earlier this year they put out to tender for a new turf management partner, with Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions as winning the tender

The way it'll work is - The GMHBA Stadium grounds team will be led by Turf Manager Liam Kirkman, who now joins Turf Solutions. He brings six years’ experience at GMHBA Stadium to the role, ensuring continuity of local knowledge. Liam will be supported by Turf Solutions Operations Manager Jon Trendorden, with oversight from Damian who continues to work across both Adelaide Oval and the Turf Solutions division.

Damian has said that him or Jonathon will be in Geelong every 2 -> 4 for support - potentially even more often over the coming months as following the second BBL match, they'l ripping everything up as it undergoes an overall surface reconstruction ahead of the new AFL season

Over the past 5/6 weeks:

3 x Oasis concerts
2 x Lady Gaga concerts
1 x Metallica concert
This Wednesday is the RMIT graduation

It's simply not in a position to host cricket matches anytime soon - hence the Gades first 2 home matches in Geelong, with the first Marvel match on NY Day. That gives the surface time to recover and hopefully be in much better condition than the first couple of matches there last season

And they were never going to try squeezing in 5 matches in 2 weeks after the new year
