Not sure it's good for the competition the same teams vying for the title year after year bar a few times others have snuck one in there. Perhaps the organisers need to start looking into why the others can't seem to get it right. Maybe look at culture and standards and demand an improvement because it will die a slow death if it's always the same scenario.

There's talk of bringing in a draft system where each team can hold onto 5(?) players and the rest go into a draft before each season. Would suck massively for the Scorchers whose team aligns very closely with the WA test and ODI teams (as opposed to other teams who treat them as typical franchises).

I don’t think that’s really needed - each team already has a core of 5-7 guys who are established and returning each season - even regular strugglers like the Heat and the Renegades.

It’s down to things like having a good set up, stable coach, good captain….like any other team based comp in sport.

Need to look at what the Scorchers and the Sixers are doing and work out how to do it better.
