That’s what happens when you pay half your salary cap on Nabi, Finch and Marsh
Correct. I'm not sure what the equivalent to the AFL List Manager is for a BBL team, but the Gades one has to be sacked. A few overpaid hasbeens and then a bunch of hacks or underperforming unproven speculation picks.

Compare that to the roster of any other team and its mind boggling how they can be working under the same parameters.

Renegades are garbage.
Two time wooden spooners and no obvious improvement in their list? It was common knowledge before the start of the season.

Actually of you look at the Renegades over the 11 years of the BBL, they have the fewest wins of all teams so they have been garbage for a majority of it's existence. Makes that one year they won the tournament look like a fluke.

Even if we forget the top ones the middle players are awful. I’ll use my side but a guy like Alex Ross would be perfect for the Gades.

Yes. Don't need XI stars, need mid - very good range players who are solid and can contribute when needed and perform their specialist roles. Top that up with maybe a premium or two who actually are worth their coin, and a good international. There's your competitive finals XI.

Who has to go for the Gades next season- if they can get rid of:

GO:

Shaun Marsh (38 years old and one can clearly see he doesnt have the same agility in his younger days)
Nabi
Reece Topley
Will Sutherland
Maddinson (there is a reason why him and the Sydney Sixers parted ways)
James Seymour
James Pattinson (too fat and looks overweight to be in the team)

KEEP:
Finch
Zahir Khan
Prestwidge (dont know why the Gades refuse to play him)
Mackenzie Harvey (good fielder but hardly seen him fire with the bat on a strike rate wise stat)
Kane Richardson

Give them 1 year to prove themselves:
Sam Harper (simply doesn't have the power game despite his experience)
Fraser-McGurk (too young and inexperienced- he may thrive under a better team I feel)

HAVEN'T SEEN ENOUGH TO PROVE THEMSELVES (could easily be flicked or kept):
Boyce
Lalor
Merlo
Z Evans

How could possibly advocate for keeping Finch and getting rid of Richardson (their best player)?

Could do worse than a Jake Lehmann type too. That solves the opening position. Gades need some solid bats. The middle order is pathetic

no i made a typo and Richardson is a 'KEEP'

You keep Finch possibly for a season or 2 with his career T20 stats:

In Big Bash
Ave 33.53, S/R 134.65

For Australia
Ave 35.72, S/R 148

Will give him the benefit of the doubt this season, but if he has another poor season next season- he could be on the chopping block.

I’d keep Marsh before Finch.

I dont know the contract situation, but with Finch/Marsh money surely they could bring in a decent opener. Not saying these guys specifically but contract cost wise would a Wade, Darcy Short, Gilkes, Philipe, Hales, etc, really be on more money than Finch/Marsh?

Been poor since BBL09. Past it now/doesn't care enough for the domestic league.

Only know the Thunder ones and Hales would be on the same. Gilkes is on peanuts. First breakout season.

I don't think there is a player on the Renegades roster that would make the Sixers or Thunders rosters, so none of them are worth keeping.

I don't think their are too many from the Stars that would make the Sydney teams either. Maxwell, Stoinis and Zampa perhaps.

I suggest you merge the two Melbourne teams.

Still been one of their leading runscorers this season but admitedly his runs have come at a slower pace.

1 decent innings from 8 games.

If you were grading the Renegades this season, Finch would get a C grade. Hasn't been their worst, and he would be closer to their top 3 or top 4 players this season- which goes to show you how pi$$ they have been.

Yeah Gades need to get rid of Finch as well as about 15 other blokes. The only other one you'd probably keep is Harper as he's far from the worst keeper in the comp.
Gets starts but rarely goes on with it though is his fault. Every now and then you need to turn a 25 into an innings carrying 80+

Do you know his peak BB average?

If he’s in the side has to open he’s useless elsewhere
