They can join the Heat!!!

Possibly... either way as much as we under achieve, at least the comp we won in BBL02 stops us from being joint most overrated domestic sporting team in Australia with the Stars. You’d want to hope like * you win one before the Canes otherwise it will be the biggest joke in Australian sport that the original self proclaimed glamour superstar team that had to have the best of everything when BBL kicked off, yet could be the last franchise to win a comp and that’s even if they win one on our lifetime.

What I find more remarkable is you’re the most bias Victorian loving poster in these forums when it comes to barracking for Victorian players yet the franchise you support had a grand total of 2 Victorians in their XI last night and not to mention you only had the one overseas player last night too

Victorian born or players who started in the Victorian system:

1. Maxwell
2. Gotch

Interstate or overseas players:

3. Stoinis (WA)
4. Larkin (NSW)
5. Maddison (NSW)
6. Cartwright (WA)
7. Counter-Nile (WA)
8. Hinchliffe (WA)
9. Zampa (SA)
10. Stanlake (QLD)
11. Khan (Afghanistan)

And at one stage you were playing Pooran (WK) over Gotch so for most of the season you’ve had Maxwell as your only flagship Victorian and he has been horrible this season. 3rd duck last night wasn’t it?!?

Let’s even look at other squad players that have played a bit

12. Hatcher (NSW)
13. Dunk (QLD)
14. Rainbird (TAS)
15. Morris (WA)

Surprised you don’t support the Renegades over the Stars considering they have 7 Victorians or is that the reason why they are coming dead last?

1. Finch
2. Fraser-McGurk
3. Harper
4. Harvey
5. Evans
6. Peter Hatzoglou
7. Will Sutherland

Every single other franchise has more local players than The Stars. Even when they go the recruitment route they still can’t get themselves a title. The culture their is even worse than the Heats. One thing we at least have going for us is we at least stick with a majority of our local products so that the team we support at least have some sort of affiliation with the city. Hell we can name a starting XI with local products or guys who started their careers in QLD.

1. Bryant
2. Lynn
3. Burns
4. Labuschagne
5. Bazley
6. Wildermuth
7. Pierson
8. Steketee
9. Swepson
10. Kuhnemann
11. Laughlin

12. Heazlett
13. Milenko

The stars are absolute 💩 mate and the only good players they have are west Aussie 😂

Lol, Adam Zampa is not a West Australian nor is Nick Larkin or Glenn Maxwell and NCN has been beat player for the Gades and Scorchers this week and probably the Stars worst player. Hasn’t done a thing this entire year except lose us two games

So a one team state can put together a team entirely of locals, wow, that’s quite the achievement...

So how come the Renegades can field a squad with more than 50% local players compared to the stars 20%?

Even 2 team city Sydney have a squad of at least half a team of locals or players that started in their system

Thunder

1. Khawaja (Started in NSW)
2. McAndrews (NSW)
3. Chris Green (NSW)
4. Tanveer Sangha (NSW)
5. Oliver Davies (NSW)
6. Arjun Nair (NSW)
7. Baxter Holt (NSW)
8. Matthew Gilkes (NSW)

Sixers

1. Daniel Hughes (NSW)
2. Moises Henriques (NSW)
3. Sean Abbott (NSW)
4. Ben Dwarshuis (NSW)
5. Ben Manenti (NSW)
6. Steven O’Keefe (NSW)
7. Jack Edwards (NSW)
8. Dan Christian (Born in NSW)
9. Gurinder Sandhu (NSW)

If the Sixers beat the Stars tomorrow with the bonus point, both Melbourne teams will finish bottom. You can make excuses until your blue in the face but the facts remain the Stars are still overrated and underachieving despite recruiting most of their players interstate or overseas.

Please tell me again how Bairstow was the biggest loss in all of history and how he would have single handedly won you lot a title despite being more of a long form player? I need a good laugh. Banton leaving us high and dry was a bigger loss as he is an actual gun T20 batsman.

At least you lot had Zampa playing most of the series whilst we had Swepson sitting on the pine for the test squad and not getting any match practice.

You know you're getting desperate adding Khawaja as a NSW local and even then the Thunder still fall below the magical 50%. If you want to add Khawaja we'll claim Stoinis as a local and Maddo cos he plays for Victoria...

But yeah adding a bloke who averages 30 at a strike rate of 130 wouldn't have helped a team who misses finals by less than a game...

How is that desperate? Khawaja grew up in NSW, he started and came through the NSW system and started with the Blues.

Still doesn’t change the fact The Stars have the lowest representation of locally born players or players that started in their system in the BBL. FACT

The Stars would rather blow smoke up their own egotistical ass and make the Renegades do the heavy lifting and take all the risk by developing the young local products and giving them a chance whilst the Stars try and claim the glamour tag and recruit from anywhere bar their own backyard. They didn’t even want to keep their boy Handscomb. And the one fully fledged Victorian they did claim for themselves just so happens to be Glenn Maxwell who would make any other side. And they were forced to use their other local boy Gotch out of necessity because Pooran left and they were without a keeper. It’s almost like CV are using the Gades as a development team whilst they try and put all their resources and prop up the Stars. How has that worked out

So before you say this is an Anti Victorian agenda, it’s not, because I actually sympathise for the Renegades and actually think they deserve to do well. I am anti Stars like most other people for the above reasons mentioned amongst other things. There is a reason why the Stars are the most hated BBL team in the league by a country mile and it’s fitting they haven’t won anything yet. Can’t say it’s tall poppy syndrome and say we hate them because of their success. Hard to be envious of looking at an empty trophy cabinet.

The Stars choking to the Renegades to hand them their first title was fitting. It’s also fitting that the majority of the arrogant bias Victorians with the big chip on their shoulders all support the Stars over the Renegades whilst the Victorians without state agendas support the Renegades. Funny that. It’s almost like the Stars toxic culture has blooded its way into its glory hunting fan base.

Also Stoinis started and came through the WA system and started with the Warriors before he moved to Victoria and is now back in WA again.

Maddinson born and bred in NSW, played majority of his career there and has only spent the last couple of years in Victoria.

But yeah you’re right.... no difference there

Might have to start claiming Khawaja as a Queenslander from now on....

And the Heat don’t?
In the last 3 years the Heat have all of these ‘glamour’ players:
Lynn, McCullum, de Villiers, Banton, Cutting, Morkel, Mujeeb, Laughlin (leading BBL wicket taker), Pattinson, Swepson

Literally all teams in the comp have these star players. It’s not like the Stars are the only ones.
