Roast Be better Crows

For the 3rd year in a row the crows are holding their gather round footy clinic before their game.
They have again said the clinic will only be with non selected players, now while the kids will love to get to interact with Nank it’s poor on the crows behalf.
Every other team clinic I’ve taken my kids to there is some star players which the kids get to kick and mark with.
This is the highlight of my sons year and the crows have failed again.
The clinic is on Wednesday night before their Thursday night game so I can understand that but there’s another 3 days after that they could hold their clinic.
Every other team can manage it, why can’t we?

All players have a certain amount of promotional appearances in their contracts.

We'd use up all our star player's ones on corporate gigs, sponsor meet and greets. Look after the high rollers.

A few kids running around dreaming of playing for the Crows one day...? Not on our radar.

Maybe it's just a small thing but it's these little things that help distinguish between being an authentic football club and being a corporate entity. What's important to us?

If I was running the show, I'd pounce on past players. Utilise them and roll them out for every corporate gig. Sponsors would surely lap it up. Stories of yesteryear.

Current players out on the ovals, connecting with the real supporters.

In fairness they're pretty good with this. See a lot of Caven, Modra, Bickley etc as these things.

Remember a very young Brendan Reilly with Simon Goodwin taking my Under 16s team for training a long time ago. Good times.

Your tadpole isn't excited to have a kick with Burgess?

I wonder if they use the guaranteed Thursday game to give the players some extra quarter season leave
Disappointing if so. But some have to be around for the stuff in elder park I reckon, plus recovery.

And not doing enough to help the cricket. Poor from Crows.

Back in the day when we held breakfasts the morning after the match at the gabba (held every year from 1998 to 2019), we'd get the entire squad! (I know, we were very fortunate, the only Interstate Supporters Group that got that level of exposure). Now we are limited to prematch with an official or two. It's really disappointing that the players association have negotiated basically as little public contact as possible.

But in this case all the other teams manage to roll out their stars, we’ve been to a bulldogs, freo, Melbourne, north Melbourne, Geelong and essendon clinic, all had stars bar the crows.
I feel like we’re just being lazy and combining it with our training, which obviously is before the game and rules out the A players.
