Even 'WINGS' is better than the Beach Boys, and they only have a 1/4 of the talent of the Beatles!! I would almost go as far as saying 'BARDOT' is better than the Beach Boys....no, I don't think I will:D

I like them both.

I like the Beach Boys because they had melodic and enjoyable music that you can sing along to.

I love the Beatles because... I don't even know why. Because it's so fun to sing those songs with your friends, and because they're real and... I don't know.

But it's the beatles by a mile
My favourite song by them may well be Blackbird. Or Help. Or Hey Jude. Or Eleanor Rigby. Or...

I know what you're referring to......session musicians. And yes, they used them. But they had a core group of musicians that were used right through...........the Beatles, when they used other people, scattered it everywhere.

And can I point out that Brian used session musicians when his vision required more people..........his sound is far superior, it needed more complex arrangements.

As far as the actual band MEMBERS go, yes all of them were involved on No 1 records.

Again I ask your point..............

Obviously all the Beach Boys were involved in No 1 singles and records. You're failing to understand my point.

My statement / point is this. The Beatles were the only band where each individual member sung lead vocals on a song & that single reached number 1 in both the US & UK. For example, Ringo Starr (Yellow Submarine), George Harrison (Something) and John Lennon & Paul McCartney obviously having a series of number 1 singles each where they sang lead for the band.

Now, did the Beach Boys match this? Or was the band made up of one average lead vocalist compared to the combined genius of four of the greatest all round musicians & vocalists of all time.

And don't get me started about quality of lyrics between the 2 bands. The Beatles could find something to sing & celebrate other than surf & daddy's T-Bird!!!

 UNHAPPY LIONESS

First of all. As I stated, The Beach Boys were NOT made up of one vocalist. Mike Love did sing lead on quite a lot of the songs, but in 40 years of music and like 30 odd albums.........the others sang TONS of leads and probably half their hits are sung by the others.

And like I have stated, if you think the Beach Boys are all about Surf and Cars then you are sadly misinformed. They stopped that stuff in 1965, so the next 36 years must have been filled with SOMETHING don't u reckon.

It's sad having to argue with people who don't actually know what they're talking about.

The Beatles, after HELP!, produced endless quantities of pretentious CRAP.

This has to be the worst comment of all time......Revolver is widely known and acknowledged as the greatest album of all time...Revolver was released after Help.

The Beatles by a mile, this isnt demeaning the Beach Boys, they are one of the greatest bands of all time and there album Pet Sounds would be right behind Revolver but The Beatles are a miles in front of ANYBODY.

Revolver is crap. I'm sorry but even when I was really into the Beatles I just never liked it. It's not a crime you know.

I'm sorry but after HELP! I find the Beatles stuff pretty boring, save for a selected few songs.

I am a fan, but they just don't come close to the Beach Boys.

The difference is Lioness that you like the Beach Boys better but its widely known that they are not better than the Beatles..

There the Beatles, everyone knows there the greatest band of all time. You have your opinion and i know music is all about opinion, there is no good music and bad music there is just music that you like...but the Beatles break that little code as everyone knows there the greatest ever.

LOL what a sheltered little world you live in. Not everyone knows the Beatles are the best ever. Some of us have the guts to form our own opinions. And I have NEVER heard anything quite like the Beach Boys. Take into account all their different styles (pop, rock, jazz, gospel........) and the way their music evolved yearly is incredible. Some people miss the Beach Boys all together and it's for you people I feel truly sad.

And just a further note.........the Beach Boys were greatly hampered in the USA due to the fact that Capitol Records had the Beatles too and poured all their time and effort into promoting the Fab Four. NIK VENET U ARE NOT A NICE MAN. God rest his soul.

And in closing............'Let's have a luau........you bring the cola, I'll bring my guitar.........'

Well here is my point. Jebediah are my favourite band but i know the Beatles are the greatest band of all time which most ppl understand.

I think you know that deep down too but are just afraid to admit it. Its ok i was in denial of how good Oasis were until i finally just decided that its true...they do rule. Thats what you have to do...let it go Lioness...

Just listened to the White Album again for the first time in 10 years. Blew me away. Will dig out Abbey Rd again soon.

There is no comparison between the body of work put out by the Beatles v the Beach boys

The Beatles legacy (and this is the only thing you can use subjectively, because music is probably the most objective subject that there is) is far and above anybody else, except maybe for Elvis, and I would dispute that.
