Shame Beamer got in early before Neeld sat him down at the end of season review and told him that he stank.
 
Interesting interview with Harrington on SEN earlier. Said that Beamer told the club he wanted to move on and they told him the feeling was mutual. He actually talked Beamer down a fair bit, all but saying he was one dimensional and the game had gone past him.

This is pretty much how it went down:
Neeld: Brent, your the easiest player to play against in the AFL.
Brent: Is that including Jamie Bennell?
Neeld: Well, yes it is Brent. So were gonna have to change a few things, it's going to be tough.
Brent: WOW Needly I must be bad. In that case, I'm moving to essendon or Port. They've got all sorts of front runners like Brent Stanton and Daniel Pearce.

Fair call on Bennell, dude is invisible 99% of the time. Could you imagine trying to tag a guy who you can't even find? eh? eh?

Didn't the MFC article say that there was a sort of review on Monday where they decided they'd part ways?
Besides, I think the writing was on the wall for Beamer before then; he wasn't playing great footy and didn't seem to be missed by Neeld.
 
I remember being so excited when he came to the club in 2005. They were an exciting three years 04, 05 and 06, even if we never got that far in the end. *sigh*.

Fair enough. I guess we don't have a lot really, when i think of seniors i think of Jones and maybe Rivers. Not sure that we're gonna be able to recruit many.
 
Apparently he wants to go to a finals bound club... he must have loved playing for Casey that much.

on that note, i would probably shit my pants laughing if by some miracle we made finals next year

With Essendon and Port Adelaide the only clubs interested......good luck! :confused:

Well our chances have ironically gone up a slight notch with one less plodder in the team.
 
Any chance we can merge the 2 Moloney threads?

I think Bombers are a great fit for a player that only has so many tricks. He'll have one job and that's to clear the ball.

The thing that points to it being a rumour is the 4-year contract bit. Who in their right mind would sign a notoriously lazy player to a 4 year deal? 2 years max, more like 1, but not for MFC.

Heard three clubs have offered him a four year deal but Melbourne is not one. Reckon he is gone from port and he will be sorely missed. We have no one who can break the lines consisently and kick long who can actually stay on the park as well.

As for Pearce being lazy and soft...that's just not true. If you have watched him he goes in when he has to and as an outside run and carry player his tackles and one per centers are solid.

Hope port match these deals but they have stated to Chappy and Pearcey that they won't. I hope he stays cos we need him in our rebuild.
