reids incredible , his speed for a big guy even down low is amazing. wait till he gains even more confidence , going to be a gun for us down back.

Both Played well but Reid was still too loose on Mooney at times

Reids only played 14 games, pretty good performance in a big game for a key position player, and he used the ball well on most occasions.

We have a very good future in the key position stocks down back, with one real "stopper" in Brown, and a rebounding defender in Reid.

Ahh, hate to burst ur bubble but Ried was less than impressive tonight, the amount of times Mooney had 1-2 meters on him was countless. Didn't see any speed there. He does good things though, but not good enough tonight. I thought defence wise - Brown was far better.

Ahh, hate to burst ur bubble but Ried was less than impressive tonight, the amount of times Mooney had 1-2 meters on him was countless. Didn't see any speed there. He does good things though, but not good enough tonight. I thought defence wise - Brown was far better.

Agree Mooney had way to much space at times, Espically in the 2nd half

I respectfully disagree. The times that he was caught out was when the cats were on a fast break and I reckon 99% of key backs would have been too.

Reid was good but he needs to learn not to go to ground so easily. His worst attribute at present.

That happens when the delivery is so good.

Reid was excellent tonight, he's one to get excited about long-term.

Fair enough, he was our main player back most of the night though. Their ball movement was too quick for our whole team, but I think Mooney took 10 or 11 marks, of that only 3 or 4 would have been STONGLY contested.

He missed 2 important marks under pressure from what I remember, but I can forgive him for that. He is young and inexperienced. That is why he has to be played. He will only get better. Scarlett was not exactly a star when he started either. Reid will be a weapon in years to come with his long and flat kicking. Will probably do a similar role that Clement had.
Just get experience and game time into him and from what he has shown this year so far - he will fulfill the promise he has shown as a junior.

Was happy with his composure in a high pressure game. Hopefully he'll gain a lot of confidence out of this game and continue to improve siginificantly. A good effort and experience in playing in a high pressure game.

True. I also think he can panic at times which makes him miss a target or spray the footy completely. However, that's a mental thing that he'll get over and his improvement so far has been great.

He just needs games to iron out the flaws so game will "slow down" around him. But his marking great, knows when to attack and has great run. Nate Brown is a worry but Reid is going to be fantastic for us.

Reid is fantastic. Showing signs of why he was a no. 8 pick! Really impressed!

I've always been impressed with Brownie and he played well too!

Agree fully... he is really starting to look the part, thank heavens that the coaching staff had the wisdom to use him in the backline in the VFL.

I can now see what they saw in him and boy is it exciting stuff.

Would not be surprised to see him up forward now and then in the future.

Beams i knew was going to be a gun alng time ago but Reid hasnt done much when ive seen him play but gee he did alright on friday
