Beams vs. Sidebottom

I'm still comfortable with my call too.

Beams.

Bloke is a pure midfielder biding his time of a HHF. Watch out for when he gets an extended crack in the midfield. Steele is going to be fantastic too, but when they are both in their prime playing in the middle, i think Beams will shade him.

They are both extreme quality players and have had greta years so far. Beams is in better form right at this minute but there's still 7 rounds left and finals.

Not a comp - I just want to keep a track on this thread as I started it 18 months ago for that reason.

You are right though, it is extremelt good to have both of them and there is much to go in the season, but the debate will always be there between the two.

Extremely happy to have both on our team, but I would go Sidebottom just. I rate his finishing a little better than Beams, and his ability to hit targets. Sidebottom has performed well on the big stage, particularly in finals whereas Beams has not to this stage! Hopefully Beamer has a cracking september, but yeah at this stage I'd go Steelo!

I have often debated this with myself.
Always leaned towards Sidebottom but Beams has gone past him in 2012. It's not over yet. Will be very interesting to follow over the years.

Beams. Cops a bum wrap for an average finals series, but once he gets the chance to play as a permanent midfielder his stocks will go through the roof.

17 rounds in and I still think Beams is the better player. Sidebottom has been performing just below par the last 2-3 weeks but he will bounce back especially come finals.

Keen to hear your thoughts after a great season by both players thus far.

Could they both be AA by the end of 2012? Squad at very least.

Beams is the Better at the Moment, Playing as the Inside Mid and Getting Clearances and Also going Forward and Kicking Goals. Also teams have found it harder to Tag Him then Steele.

I still think Steele can be the Better Player but at the Moment he is struggling with the added Attention but I am sure he will figure it out.

Beams is the Better at the Moment, Playing as the Inside Mid and Getting Clearances and Also going Forward and Kicking Goals. Also teams have found it harder to Tag Him then Steele.

They did get Redden and Rockliff both are quality players in that draft year.
But i have always said Beam will be better than Rusty and i think this year is showing it although outside finals i think Beams has been better every year. I also think both are jets so once again we must bask in the glory that is Hine.

Lions did a good job as well actually I think most teams did well in the 2008 Draft

I also think that when the opposition will start looking to tag them Sidebottom has the tools to handle it better because of his engine. Lastly, I can't remember the last time Sidey played bad in a big game - you can't say that about many guys let alone a 20yo

It probably reflects who is in the better form atm.

Love them both, Rusty's form in the GF's in 2010 was amazing and an injury free Beams in the midfield has been awesome. Opposition teams are going to wonder who to tag.
