I rarely shave anymore. I'm too lazy to shave or trim every other day. I haven't been clean shaven in about 3 or 4 years. Never had an itchiness problem either.

I think if you have naturally oilier skin and hair it keeps the hair softer and hence you don’t itch.

Dunno if that applies to you but that’s what I’ve heard.

A few times when I’ve grown mine out I’ve had shocking itchiness, but it only lasts a few days.

A good beard oil helps.

Beards are great, plus keeps the scent of vagina in there after going the chow if you're into that sort of thing!

I'm generally an Easter beard. Sometimes I let me hair grow long enough that I have to tie it back into a pig tail. Although I'm on the shaved head bandwagon these days.

Once you get past the 1cm mark, the itching is all behind you. Just have to make it over that bridge, I reckon.

Moot point because I just turned 27 and can't grow anything. Do I want one? Wouldn't mind the option but the maintenance would be a pain. Happy enough being baby faced.
In saying that though, if you're bald at a young age you need one. Just have to find your look

I suspect many of us beardies fall into a category you haven't considered: lazy ****s who can't be bothered shaving every day.

The other problem I have with long beards is the bacteria and flea carrying diseases beards have caused in human history.

From the Great Plague to the Pea Soup disasters, beards are always a bad idea.
