Can't be too upset with that. Some easy misses early cost us, some shitty umpiring too. But happy we had a real crack, especially without Merrett. Redman, McGrath, Blakiston, Roberts, Durham, Ngyuen, McMahon, Duursma .. happy with all of them

I don't understand when, straight after the loss, Essendon players (Redman, Mcgrath etc) are just happy and smiling. Even if you lose a suburban footy match you're at least devastated for a few minutes.

Even the best teams don’t have 23 A graders.

They probably won’t all make it, but Caddy, Kako, Roberts, Clarke, McMahon, Nguyen, May, Lual, Johnson and Visentini all have to the potential to be long-term contributors.
