ROFL. Open both eyes, no wonder the Carlton board is the laughing stock of bigfooty
Ease up. IIRC there is only one pick 6 who has played over 100 games and I can't even remember his name. It is not like Yarran has to do much to be the best pick 6 ever.

Having said that, Yarran will be a very good player for the Blues. Don't get carried away writing him off before he has had a chance to show his worth.

That would make for an amazing fact.

Edit: Walker for Fremantle and now Salopek, but certainly a hungry looking lot at 6

He could come to Carlton so Barker could finish his work moulding him into a super star
You'd have to expect that the Carlton recruitment panel would sit down with Barker and get his opinion on all the Hawks discards. .. So hopefully that means we know which players are worth considering from the Hawks discards. .. if any. ..

Excellent statement CP :thumbsu:

That would make for some good sense now, wouldn't it?

Dowler looked promising as a forward against Essendon in 2009 but has seemingly struggled at VFL level as many have already stated. I don't know what his problem is but I would steer clear for now.

Thanks Harks, Walker it was. Salopek made it to 100 games this year.

Next in line is Kepler Bradley with about 85 games.

Dowler is a great bloke - nice and all that stuff. But he's soft. Unfortunately.

There's no doubt his athletic gifts, or his footy ability, but he doesn't appear to have the psychological make-up of a footballer. Or at least our coaches couldn't unlock it. Remember he's had 5 years on our list and, as someone pointed out, played the last half of the season in the reserves.

In saying all of that, our coaching staff have mucked him around over the years - bulked him up, then slimmed him down to play on a wing, that sort of thing. He's a great set shot, terrific on the lead and a natural forward... but that's all in isolation. I doubt whether he'll get it together on the field now, but I really hope he does. He's gifted and he's worked hard, the question is can someone turn him into a footballer?

If Paul Roos was still coaching...

As for Moss. He's a good player. Great leadership too. But neither quick enough or strong enough to play regularly at senior level.

And I don't want to talk about Muston, because I think he could come good with a coach who gets him to play to his strengths - run, kick long, find targets. I think you'll find him at the Tigers or possibly Melbourne.

Lastly, Mitch Thorp: don't waste pixels posting about him.

With Sauce gone, Levi is likely to be given more ruck duties at the Bullants to develop his mobility and at the same time trial Hampson in a key position. I would suggest we'd also pick up an 18 year old in the rookie draft to develop.

Drafting Skipper would be akin to Pies picking up Leigh Brown.
Fixed. ;)

We are two ruck injuries away from playing Setanta in the ruck........just 2. Lets not throw Levi to the wolves.

Skipper would be very cheap. Showed with the Hawks he can work hard and play a role. Wouldn't be upset to spend most of his time in the magoos. Not sure with Kreuzer, Hampson and Warnock we need to go after another young ruck......we need someone that can fill the gap if needed immediately.
