Ari Aster has a pretty massive cult following after his first two movies became instant horror classics.
This was meant to come out last year with the original title Disappointment Bvd, which was previously being touted as a "4 hour nightmare comedy". Which honestly sounded awful. My worry was that all the hype of his first two movies may have gone to his head and he was going to follow it up with something overblown and indulgent.
But now, it's had a name change, been cut down to (a reasonable-ish) 3 hours, receiving good reviews for the trailer and the script which got leaked on reddit. I'm starting to feel the hype.
Apparently this is a bit of a dream script for Ari. I remember hearing him say once that he basically has a bunch of them in his drawer ready to go. He's already working on his next movie with Emma Stone.
Anyone else keen for this one?
