Beer at the Footy

Just returned from ANZ stadium in Sydney after watching the pies win last night. Had an unfortunate experience when I went to get another beer at 3/4 time only to be told that the bars closed during the third quarter? WTF. Apparently that is normal in Sydney.

It begs the question:

When do the bars shut at the various grounds around the country? Info please....

Not sure about the rest of the ground, but the bars are still open after the game finishes in the members area at AAMI Stadium.

Hasn't been long that you can drink in your seat at AAMI though. About 4 years?

10 minutes into the final quarter they close up at Subiaco. Third quarter is a bit of a joke, I'd be pissed too.

At Subiaco;
- Public bars close roughly 5 minutes in to the final quarter.
- $6.80 for a Carlton Mid.
- At WCE games there is the Captains Club IF you're a WCE member who has also coughed up the extra coin to join, which stays open for roughly an hour after the game. Better range of booze, plus players come out for a post game chat and autograph signing.
