Beer is yum yum drink it all down in my belly

As much as I do enjoy beers, the side effects of it are growing worse and worse on me.

I can remember disliking it upon my first few drinking experiences, though that likely had to do with it being lukewarm carlton draught my friends older brothers would give to us.

Love beer, most refreshing alcoholic beverage around.

Cider is too sickly mostly, and will probably die down in a few years.

Rekordelig will in a few years, and good riddance. Shit is like cordial.

5 Seeds' Cloudy Apple and Original/Dry Strongbow are a few types of cider that I expect will remain popular because they stay true to an apple base. Cheeky Rascal is also intriguing. Something stupid like 6 drinks to a pint in it.

Cider. Yeah, nah.

I love a trip to Uncle Dan Murphy's House to try a few different brews.

Beer is great. My favourite beers are the ones I can drink a lot of, and they keep tasting great. The 'craft' beers, micro brews extra are tasty generally (well some of them are), but can only usually drink 3 or 4...

HAd this argument with some people at the Brewery the other days. Whilst drinking beer myself, I was arguing that beer tastes like shit and I don't see how anyone can actually like it. People drink it, cause its cheap.

The main beers, Tooheys, VB, XXXX(eww....) etc, definitely taste like shit but there are some more specialised beers that taste great.

Not a cider fan for more than one or two drinks, any more will make my stomach churn.

Will never forget being at a party many moons ago, and one of my friends exclaiming this new beer he had bought tasted really odd when he had downed about 4 of them down. It was strongbow.

I find for some reason I get drunk a lot more quickly on cider than beer. Love the taste though.

I honestly wouldn't say VB tastes like shit. Can drink plenty of the stuff. There always a problem when you have something else first and try to go back to it, but sticking with it from start to finish, I can go for hours. I'm sure someone will try to explain why this is the case, but regardless of the reason why, I still enjoy it so I don't care :thumbsu:

I wish I could stomach beer. It makes me feel ill from the first mouthful. Also, I hate the taste anyway but it would make a night out a hell of a lot cheaper!

Cheeky Rascal cider is great. The main time I had a binge on it I forgot how much stronger it was than regular cider and downed it like I would 5 seeds. Made for a very drunken afternoon.

On Topic, like beer, hated it when I first had it. I do, however, only like certain beers. Not a fan of anything too bitter, and not a fan of pilseners at all.

Me too. Cider has this awesome affect on me, where after the first few sips I feel my neck and shoulders relaxing and the drink take over.

The best tasting sipping beer in the world is Czech Pilsner Urquell. The best slamming beer if you're going to have a half dozen or more (or more) (or more) is German Warsteiner.

If you try those and you still don't like the taste of beer, try pouring some on your vagina and stop telling us about acquired tastes.

Often it is the preservatives in most commercial beers that contribute to the unpleasant headaches etc. associated with beer hangovers.

For a decent preservative free Australian quaffing beer try Stone & Wood Pacific ale.

I'll also recommend waking up and having another beer.

Never knew that was preservative free, will give it a go. Was something else to go drinking when I was studying in Germnay, would stay out till 4, and be up at 7 the next day only feeling the lack of sleep, no headaches.

I used to hate beer when I was a teenager. Maybe because the only thing I could afford at 14 was a case of Carlton Cold or VB.
At some point it just clicked and I developed quite a liking for it, although I still refuse to drink the VBs, Tooheys New etc

At least you became half a man.

Yeah, Germany is great in this regard. The tremendous array of breweries, usually strict self imposed quality controls and high standards of the public mostly guarantee that the beer, especially in the south is often solid to great.

However, it is untrue that all German beer is additive free, as laws regarding beer purity were relaxed in the early 90's.

Not a massive fan, however am not a massive fan of alcohol in general. Probably not the best person to ask.

Does the job, good for something different. Have it with mates only about once a fortnight, suits me fine.

The nice thing about beer is that it is one of the few cold drinks (alcoholic or otherwise) that is actually enjoyable once your tastebuds mature to the point where you dislike anything overly sugary-tasting. If I want a cold drink in summer it's either a G&T or a beer.

I really struggle when I'm DD and can't have a beer. I end up drinking something boring like tonic water, because pretty much everything else is too damn sweet.

Cider must be drunk with ice. If I ever order it at a bar, I grab a few pints, then ask for another glass with just ice, then add it myself.
