The thought for this thread initially occurred to me when Stewart Loewe was heading into the week leading up to his 300th game and they showed some footage of when he first started, running around in the highly fancied #52 (I think) jumper.

To get this thread rolling, nominate some players from you team who are reasonable well known (we'll take 50 games as a minimum here) and let us try and remember what number they were initially given.

Oh my, doesn't that bring back memories....Gosh he was such a good player; he really upheld the tradition of the past players who have donned the number 23 .... He was almost as good as his coach, Peter Knights....

Ryan Turnbull (premiership player in 1994 before anyone starts taking the p***) went from no. 50 to, um, no. 50. Apparently he likes the number and didn't want to change.

I think Daffy was 44.

Another big mover in the number stakes was Royce Vardy. After having a pretty good season last year, Royce was given the opportunity to upgrade his number from the cumbersome #42.

After some consideration he chose......

The recently vacated #41 guernsey of Scott Turner!!!!

And while on the topic of vacating guernseys, Paul Broderick has signalled that this will be his last season, meaning that the most famous number at Richmond will become available.

Who do you think will get to fill it?
