Got held at gunpoint buying 1k worth of pills, almost the scariest situation ive been in.
Also got rolled for an ounce of green one time with a dirty syringe
When pot was legal to grow in sa we had some rippers stolen, the thiefs got picked up by the pigs as they got home with the booty and charged with cultivating. A few months my later my dad was on jury duty when the case come up. They pleaded guilty real quick. The pot wasn't anywhere near mature..

No but she raided my housemates bathroom, who was a girl, took her hair straightener and a whole bunch of makeup stuff. I got my ass pounded for that

If she robbed you - why did you go to prison?

While I was in Sydney, during the 60s, the flat in which I lived was broken into. They stole everything, including half a toilet roll from its holder. A couple of months later, the same thing happened again. I took it as a sign that I should live elsewhere.

In the early 80s the house I lived in at Elwood was broken into. Lost TV, VCR and stereo. All insured. Made a fortune out of it. I still have the replacement stereo speakers, and they work brilliantly to this day. Gotta love replacement value.

Edit: A mate and his missus were thinking of moving to Italy to live. Just before they were due to leave they invited a woman over for dinner. She had worked in Italy for a couple of years, as a journo. They wanted to get some advice about living there. Her advice was, "Don't go."

She and her boyfriend had their house burgled a couple of months after they arrived. As a result, they changed the locks to more substantial ones and bought a sturdier door. Two months later, they were done over again. This time they installed a burglar alarm, and CCTV as well. Nope, didn't deter the thieves, yet another break in. Finally, they re-enforced every entry, had cameras all over and their alarm was connected to the cops. They even put bars over all the windows. All to no avail. These mothers pulled up in a 4WD, attached a rope to the bars over one of the windows and pulled the lot away from the wall. My mate went to live in Ireland.

Had three guys demand money from me at a bus interchange when I was about 17, my 'loyal' mate who was with me, walked off to look at a timetable. He later claimed he was pretending not to know me so he could jump in, unsuspected, if any trouble started...

Had my wheels stolen one night whilst my car was parked out the front of my house under a street light. Walked out the door in the morning to head to work and the car was chocked up on wooden blocks.

My old man is a detective so I asked him to keep a bit of a lookout and about a week later, he spotted an old commodore with wheels that looked surprisingly like mine in a rough part of town out the front of a milk bar. Questioned the guy when he walked out and he folded like a pack of cards so I got them back.

Moral of the story - if you steal somebody's wheels, don't put them on your dodgy old commodore and drive them around in the same town you stole them from.

Which brings up an issue. Surely, you are taken to prison?

Not if you have committed no crime and appear to be searching for an arse pounding.

It would appear that there is no reason to wait to be taken to gaol for this to happen, or so I'm reliably informed.

I was once jumped by 10ish lebs at Maccas, they stole my NY hat and my double quarter pounder with cheese. Bastards.

When I was about 10 I walked outside on a Saturday morning to see that my dad's car was gone, they just drove it to Sunshine and left it in a car park though. Fairly strange.

had my car broken into in ringwood. thankfully it was not torched, and all wheels present the following morning. also luckily i had locked the glovebox. my bluetooth speaker was not so lucky.

the most chilling episode i experienced was in LA. was staying with relos. we went out for tea and came home maybe 2 hours later. upon return mrs north went upstairs to our room. in the dark. me aunt and i were downstairs. then my uncle followed, turned on the light. he called us up. pointed to the mess on the floor and said "see what your aunt does! just leaves everything on the floor". she came up and went white as a ghost. she said she didnt do it. we all gathered at the crime scene and i swear everything was dead quiet. all noises were amplified. as i type i am becoming breathless!!

anyway, so they opened a safe containing about 30K in cash. mrs and i inspected our room, only a duffle bag was taken. money in tact. passports ditto. so cops called.uncle sent me to the garage to see if anyone was hiding. no one there. looking around the living room, we were all pacing around when i see a shadow and person outside moving!! FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU....it was me uncle having a look around. seriously? really?

cops called. we all sat near the front door. door bell rings. i jump up like the honeymooners..... its cops (bad cops bad cops). anyway, mrs and i did not sleep a wink that night.

holiday finished, and we went home.

a few weeks later.....

received call from aunt. told me that a syndicate of asians/hispanics/everyone were targeting their own persons and collecting and collating the loot. asian couple down the road were broken into the same night.....they were not so lucky. shot dead.

fuq. to think if we were home.....or they were upstairs when the mrs went up.

goosebumps.

Spent a few years in Ireland as a kid.
Mum had her car broken in to & cassette deck stolen.
Cops caught the kid (18yo, unknown to my family). He'd been knocking off quite a few cars in the area.
The night before he was due in court he committed suicide.
Mum then copped abusive calls from his family and friends claiming his suicide was her fault.

My old man's car got broken into on the street when I was a kid.

We had left nothing of value in it, but when we went through it the only differences we found were a broken window, and the thief had dropped $2 on the floor. Ignoring the window, there's profit on that!

That is quite a story peternorth.

If people want to know why Americans don't want to give up their guns that's your answer.

hey Juggalo Balla

i still get the chills today. my heart has never beaten so fast as when i saw a figure outside the window (not a baddie).

my parents place was broken into a few years ago. i was called straight away. oddly, the relos i stayed with in usa were about to arrive and stay at my folks. they were not advised of course. obviously someone was watching.

thing about being robbed/house broken into is the sense of privacy being invaded.

Yeah it freaks you out a bit. The best defense is not having any valuables to steal.

Happened once or twice in Darwin. People just grab cameras, power tools, mp3 players. Anything that might be worth something that's easy to carry.

I don't really like those security screens though. More people die from being trapped inside by fire from those things than people killed by intruders.

Some jerk stole a leather jacket and hoodie out of my car. Still pissed about that a year later.

Got robbed in Mexico, but it wasn't that bad in the sense we were asleep on an overnighter bus and woke up in the morning and our cash was gone... They left wallets, passports, cards etc so it could've been worse... but they did take my weed...

Otherwise my car got stolen years ago in Adelaide when I was at the Uni Bar for a gig, just a shitty corona station wagon - They took it for a joyride then dumped it in Wingfield and set it on fire.. assholes

My mate's story is much worse. It was new year's eve a couple of years back. He'd finished work about 9.30 or 10pm and was heading out to a party along the beach somewhere down south - He stopped at a phonebox outside the train station to call someone just to make sure he knew what stop to get off, as he hadn't been down there before. Anyway, he had his backpack and a greenbag full of his stuff, booze and drugs for the night, and set them down by his feet as he started using the phone, and put his wallet beside the phone in the box... Suddenly some guy came out of nowhere and snatched his wallet from right beside him... He chased after him but wasn't able to catch him...

swearing and cursing he went back to the phone box and some other cnut had taken his two bags....

This was on North Terrace outside the train station with people everywhere... People saw it happen but no one thought to stop either cnuts who'd stolen his stuff...

He had a fun NYE that night

Did she take your clothes??

Robbed from a guy for me - very unlikely.

Robbed from a woman - bank on at Sportsbet.
