Current Theo Hayez - Murdered Missing Byron Bay Surrounds

Reminds me of a similar case from many years ago, where hippies were disappearing whilst of holiday in Asia.
It turned out that a group of serial killing teams was at work:
Charles Sobhraj, Marie-Andrée Leclerc, and AJ Choudry.
IMO, we can't discount such a possibility, and I wonder if there's a possibility that the lady that went missing overseas, Marion Barter, might've had her identity stolen in exactly the same way as the Sobhraj gang operated to move countries, and thus maybe a serial killing gang could've of moved to Australia.

Statistics suggest there is a very slim chance that three backpackers — from the UK, France and Belgium — all met misadventure at beach towns on the NSW coast within four months.
There’s just as much chance that Theo Hayez, Hugo Palmer and Erwan Ferrieux fell victim to a serial killer hunting foreign tourists, according to one of Australia’s leading forensic psychologists.

Nice of him to include the statistics in the article. I swear people would read this, repeat it to others and then next thing Ivan Milat has a cousin who was in Byron in 1999. Could it have been him? FMD.

If any of their stuff was missing it might lend more weight to a serial killer theory but still, they'd have to consider the possibility. Does anybody think there aren't any operating in Australia?

Plenty operating in Australia.
Plenty of grey areas , when you look at certain groups and sects...., it is quite shocking look at some tactics used by big buisness merchants .

Reformed coke Head , makes you wonder why Perth 7 is even giving this air time

Because he has a lifetime of specialist knowledge and he's good at his job. Whenever Watson's name is mentioned it's only a matter of time before someone draws attention to a short period in his life when he ran off the rails. And then righted himself. Let it go FFS.

Don't judge until you've seen even a glimpse of what he's got inside his head, you could not even begin to imagine it.

Sobhraj was caught because he used the victims identities and stuck his picture into their passports. Theft could lend credence to a SK theory, but must be remembered that if the motivation is not theft nor rape, then there might be little or no material evidence until they find the bodies.
When my youngest uncle shared digs with Sobhraj in Thailand, my uncle told Police who took a witness statement from him for Interpol in the 1970's, that he never noticed anything untoward about Sobhraj whatsoever. Sobhraj appeared as a totally normal friendly bloke. Yet four people were killed in that time.

Heard enough though to know he had a drug problem for a bit. He's recently written two best selling books, both have been optioned so it's not likely I'm him.

Re CSK, he was right. There might be more to say on that too so, stay tuned.

That's heartbreaking, poor family trying to find answers

Fit young lads like him have good organs black market organ snatchers make money from.

And being very intelligent well Organised like he is, disappearing off the face of the earth and building a new identity in straya, is Not hard.

Back packers know where to get cash in hand work.

There's lots of detailed Missing person posters all over backpacker hostels about him, they ain't ruled anything out.

I was googling to see if any more info had come out about this and stumbled upon another forum were it had been closed due to people naming a POI.

Am sure there'd be all kinds of gossip around the town, I wonder if that has started to spread to the interwebs.

Is the inference here he was lost and then followed someone to the beach or he was waiting for someone?
