I don’t agree, nothing will change what he has done. That said he appears about 25% of what he was and TRT Frank should account for him, I’ve even put money on him.

Happy for Fedor...no fuss, just goes about his business. He should get through Sonnen pretty easily....unless the fight goes to the ground. Their press conference needs a spilt screen with Chael talking shit and Fedor with the same emotionless face not giving a ****

Was little weird seeing Mir in Bellator cage even though he hasn't fought for a couple years....his always been a UFC guy.

I think that's it for him.

Danis winning by submission is no surprise. His BBJ skills are legit.

I did like the leg lock.

If Bellator are smart....they should keep giving him easy beats.

15 second fight. King 'glass chin' Mo might have to consider a different profession.

It'll be a greater show one day when they stop feeding him guys he's clearly head & shoulders above.

Of course it's not his fault but I want to see him matched up with a guy in his league. Rickels never stood a chance on paper.

Realistically though, can Bellator ever match UFC? The only real fighter they have in my opinion that should be in the superior organisation is Pico, possibly Bader and Davis as well to a lesser extent as UFC’s LHW division is shithouse.

People said similar things about Strikeforce back in the day. Rory MacDonald was top 5 when he left and went life and death with Lima in his last fight. Not all that long ago he easily accounted for Woodley. Ben Henderson and Mousasi are two other high profile fighters to move from the UFC to Bellator and not have things go as well as they'd hoped.

Mousassi might've scored a fractured orbital since the move - but he's 2 fights in and already now the Bellator MW champ. I don't see him dropping it anytime soon either.

Bader looks a class above in there too, IMO.

Agreed, with Guy Threepwood, they used to say that about Strikeforce. The thing is, Bellator CAN potentially match UFC in time, 95% of fighters in high level orgs train together in the same camps etc. There's no reason someone in Bellator can't be the best in the world (without being able to prove it).

There a quite a few 'top 5-10' UFC level fighters in Bellator IMO:

    LW
    Chandler

    WW
    Lima
    Koreshkov
    MVP (borderline, but incredible striking)
    Rory

    MW
    Mousasi
    Shlemenko
    Carvarhlo (borderline)

    LHW
    Bader
    Davis
    King Mo (borderline)

    HW
    Mitrione (borderline)

But they can certainly grow as they find more talent and sign prospects that are training with the best in the world at camps like AKA, ATT, TriStar, TigerMMA and some of the Russian gyms etc.

Generally they will go where they are best paid, and if Bellator can start to compete with the UFC on that front, it will even the playing field substantially

Not being able to broadcast live events and doing so globally will always be it's biggest stumbling block. They'll never be close to the UFC but they can bridge the gap if they can fix the limited ways in which fans can watch their MMA & Kickboxing bouts.

A guy like Wayne Parr who's signed with Bellator Kickboxing...you can't watch his fights it until someone puts it on youtube/facebook.

Its also worth noting that MMA is so diverse that upsets are more common place. Not a lot of those guys are likely to win the three or four fights in a row required to get a title shot but if they came in and got one straight away they'd be a genuine 50/50 shot to win it. Example

Mousasi v Whittake straight up is a close fight. Mousasi v Jacare then Gastelum then Romero then Whittaker is going to be tough, lose any of those fights and its back of the line.

Damn nice boxing from Pico. Got tagged a few times himself but showed his experience going to the body and being patient when he had Higo hurt both times. Impressive prospect.

Gegard with the size, speed, power and technical advantages so far.. by a fair distance too.

This could get ugly for Rory.

Seems like Rory is biting big time on every jab faint but not reacting on the ones he actually throws.
