For this year, I would say that statistically, Belly is in front in almost every category, whilst over their careers, Goldstein is really only clearly in front for average number of hitouts.

Averages are always going to be skewed when one player has played 30 more games than the other.
Bellchambers has started the year well, but Goldstein nearly made the AA team last year. His performances to date far outweigh Bellchambers'.

Stats are all well and good, but it's pretty obvious Goldstein has influenced games more than Bellchambers has.

Also pretty obvious that he has played twice as many, besides the point. I only used those stats to illustrate a small point about Goldy being "clearly" superior. I think Goldy is one of the best rucks going around, but I am making an early call that I think Belly is going to be second at Essendon, only to Simon Madden. If you have a look at this years stats, Belly is actually a mile in front of Goldy, but that is a combination of Belly spending a lot more time on the ball, while Goldy's time on the ball has reduced. Still early in both kids careers though. Would like to revisit this in about 6 years time, when both should be close to their peak.

Bellchambers has stepped it up, but come on, Goldstein is still clearly a better ruckmen.
I honestly don't think there's a lot in it, either way.

OTOH neither really had much of an advantage, when they did line up on each other last year. Of course Goldstein's stats were way way way in front (playing one-out for about 20 weeks of the year) compared to Bellchambers, who had to time-share.
IMHO that means about as much as Goldstein's stats dropping right off this year.

I think this might be one of those classic comparisons (a la Pavlich v Reiwoldt & so on) - something to be said for both, and both clubs & set of supporters should be bloody happy.

Probably the worst time to revisit the poll considering Goldstein is adapting to having Hmac in the team whilst Belly just had his career best game. Both are similar types, if they're not in the ruck they're a bit useless.

Belly has more strings & is more aggressive, Goldy will be the last of the lumbering ruckman who simply ruck, but can't really play anywhere else.

Belly has more strings than Goldy?

Most goals in a game - Goldy 5 Belly 2
Most disposals in a game - Goldy 26 Belly 21
Most hit outs in a game - Goldy 53 Belly 41
Most kicks in a game - Goldy 14 Belly 13
Most handballs in a game - Goldy 12 Belly 12
Most tackles in a game - Goldy 7 Belly 4
Most marks in a game - Goldy 10 Belly 9

Could not find a stat for "more agressive". But like your entire post it ends up in the fantasy land made up rubbish bin.

Times outbodied by a 6'1 78kg midfielder - Goldy 1, Belly 0

2012 Belly games 4 av disp 14.2 marks 5.5 HO 28.5
2012 Goldy games 4 av disp 8.8 marks 1.2 HO 21.8

Goldy has played twice as many games & may well have peaked already, by the time Belly reaches the same experience, Hille will have retired & he will be our first ruck full time. He'll eclipse every one of those deficits easily mark my words.

Goldie is good, can't find a spot at the moment but he is good. Needs to learn to ruck with others or he might as well be traded.

Goldy had a much better season last year with more opportunities too.

That's all we know so far.

As of this year Belly has stepped up and Goldy missing. Either could continue or go back to 2011 standard. Time will tell not this poll.

Both going to be good players over their career
