It's official. Ben Cousins has been rumoured to be talking with the Cats over relocating to the team that his Dad played 67 games for. Said move is rumoured to be happening at the end of the '07 season. Initially, his decision to remain in Perth, and not to be drafted to Geelong under the Father-Son rule, was based on his wishes to stay in his home town with his family and friends. Obviously, this is no longer on the top of Cousin's priority list, and he will be packing up and moving to Corio Bay.

To my knowledge he is'nt even eligible to be drafted under the father son rule, but hey don't let the facts get in the way of an official rumour.

It could be good, the Geelong players seem fairly stable (apart from Johnson). At least Gardy is just down the highway if he wants a night out.

He was eligible for:
Geelong - Because his dad played more then 50 games there, which were the rules at the time
West Coast - Because his dad played more then 100 games for the Perth Demons
Fremantle - Because he came out of the East Fremantle zone

He chose West Coast

He's gone. What a slap in the face for poor old Ben... After all he has done for the Eagles. Shame, shame, shame. Welcome to the Cattery, Cuz.
How is it a slap in the face that he was given numerous chances with the eagles turning a blind eye to it all and he still kept ****ing up?

I love Benny but seriously, he got what he deserved for his numerous indescretions. It's not as is this was his first chance

Perth is Freo F/S territory. The only reason W/C were elligible to get him was an oversight by the WAFC (and the WAFC appointed Freo Board) not having the F/S rules ammended when Freo joined the Comp.

It could not happen since.

Not a bad Free kick the Eagles got there.
