Now that he's back, and with a few teams interested, where do you think Ben will be drafted?

I think somewhere from pick 20 onwards in the National Draft.

Re: How early could Cousins go in the draft?

With GC coming into the draft a club would be stupid to waste a national draft pick on a 30yo.

A pre-season draft pick would be the go.

Re: How early could Cousins go in the draft?

How early is Carlton's first pick?
They are desperate to get some decent players:D.

I would think he would be a second rounder....or maybe even later. It really depends on how far negotiations have gone with his chosen club.
Once it is clear which club he wants, no other club would even consider a coup. Too dangerous.

Lol

So you think a kid who is picked 50+ would offer more than Cousins?

What about a Geelong, Kangaroos, Western Bulldogs or Collingwood for example.

With a ready to go elite midfielder in the draft, it could be eniticing enough for them to try snatch a shot at a flag.

exactly. he'll go to the club he nominates so long as that club wants him.

Re: How early could Cousins go in the draft?

Port have saved a pick on Carr, and will take Cousins with their first pick.

Yes but why have they all said no.

Re: How early could Cousins go in the draft?

he'd nominate a club and go with their final selection. so for mine he'd go to the saints at pick 83.

this doesnt mean on talent he wouldnt go higher but this is where he would go imo. cant see why they would do this though when they could just pick him up in the psd like they will

Re: How early could Cousins go in the draft?

Correction - he'll go to the club that pays him the most.

A club is really going to throw a ton of cash at an ex-drug addict without talking to him first and seeing if he really wants to be there ??.

Ridiculous comment.

If he nominates Port I will believe you.

100% accurate.

Well, St Kilda wants Benny in their side and The Lions also have Benny in their sights. And the Lions have a higher pick than St Kilda in both drafts. So what and who will be sacrificed for the chance to snare Benny?

Re: How early could Cousins go in the draft?

Nah, he's not that stupid.

Well they have covered up much worse than anything that Cuz has done so far. This should have been kept in house and he should be still playing for WC. The AFL is way out of line with this.

Re: How early could Cousins go in the draft?

If Port are smart, they'll pick him up.

It would be one way for them to start getting people along to the games.

Wouldnt be bad for Freo to pick him up.

It would be one way for them to actually start winning games.

Re: How early could Cousins go in the draft?

Im pretty sure hes ineligible for the Draft. Will have to be PSD

Re: How early could Cousins go in the draft?

He will go in the 2nd round to a club that is close to a tilt at the flag.
Also don't be surprised to see a club that has been very quiet on the whole thing.
Freo maybe, Port or Brisbane that would be my guess as they will have first dig in the second round of the teams that could utilise his services.

But WOW this is gonna be one interesting Draft I tells you.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Port snatched Cousins with pick 4 in the PSD and then used pick 20 to get Josh Carr. It's not like anyone else would want Carr and in any case Cousins >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Carr.
