Griffo v Ben Lennon tomorrow at 2:30 on ESPN. Quick tip if you don’t want to sit through a 4 hour snore fest is to wait till the game is over, head to ESPN and get the play by play report, it’ll have the timestamps of every play including punts. Skip forwards and watch both of the boys punts, should be able to do a whole game in a few minutes 👍

Caught the first half, Griff didn't seem to be out there? but I saw Lennon have a couple of punts for the Utes. It wasn't going well, the commentators both times remarked 'that was a very short kick'. It looks like he is trying to kick one of those high release torpedoes, NFL-style, but it morphs into a drop punt half-way through, released too high for a drop punt to get much distance.

I want to wish him well, but I'm still a bit irked by Lennon, his agitating for moves to Carlton, his sulking about not being selected for the 2015 EF, and his apparent lack of application as a result of that sulking...

FFS let it go

Lennon didn't have the application to apply himself to afl there is no way he makes it in three nfl which is a million times more cutthroat.

Best case scenario for him is he gets a free education and maybe a season or 2 on a practice squad which isnt too bad of a deal.

Griff has a pretty good chance of making it looking at his stats, if he wants to that is. considering he seems pretty set on finishing his degree rather than going into the draft.

Game ended

Lennon 4 punts 144 yards total avg 36
Griff 4 punts 175 yards avg 43.8

Not always just about yardage but there is a reason griff is playing for usc and lennon utah

“The other thing that I thought needs to be said and noticed was the kicking game. I thought the two specialists did an amazing job tonight — both Parker Lewis in kick coverage and also with field goals that he made, and then Ben [Griffiths] just not allowing them the opportunity to get a return started.”

Got a pat on the back from the coach. Being new to the sport, I find it hard to see what’s a good punt and what’s a bad punt.

I was out for the first half so flicked through to see each punt. Watched the whole second half, was just an obscene amount of adds with some play sprinkled through sporadically. Don’t know how people can watch regularly.

As another user said, hang time is good in punts to allow the coverage team to get back. Trying to pin them to a sideline as well can help.

Since I've got foxtel, I typically record the games and fast forward through the adds. You can get some good YouTube packages of just the plays, with adds and waiting cut out.

Eh tag me when they start using them knife shoes for what they’re made for. Taking them off and slicing campaigners.

You seen the dudes that were playing nhl and got their throats slashed and almost die?

Hang time is the most important so your defensive line can push up and pin them down.

Otherwise depth - you want to kick it deep but not all the way into the end zone otherwise there is a touchback and the receiving team starts off at the 20 or 25 yard line.

Pinning them to the side is good too but you don't want to kick it out.
