Huddo made his debut in round 3 against Fremantle and has played every game since (partly due to suspunsion of Biglands). He has done OK, he is still raw in terms of football ability but he does have a real crack everytime he takes the field. He has a lot to learn but he is going along alright ATM.

He's been an okay relief ruckman for Clarke in Biglands' absense. I think he's generally been coming onto the ground in the last 10 minutes of the quarter.

Hudson seems reasonably competent at the ball ups; wins his fair share. Doesn't really offer much else away from the ruck contests but that's nothing new for a Crows ruckman.

It might seem that he doesn't get many possessions in field play, but it must be remembered that he only gets between 33% and 40 % of a game very week.

He had 9 disposals and 4 marks in about 40% of the game on Friday, which pro-ratas to about 20 disposals if he played a full game.

That's been about his average pro-rata rate in all but one of his games off memory, which is pretty creditable for his first year at this level.

I am pretty happy with his progress and as you said, he has done well for the time he has spent on the park. I think his tap work is his biggest flaw but he is gettin better at it. Another pre-season under his belt where he improves his engine room wil do him the world of good. On before the bounce Rowey pulled out a stat about Hudson, sayiung that he is #1 at the club for hardball gets average. THats pretty impressive for a big fella in his 1st year of footy. We could do with more players of his grunt and competative spirit.

No doubt that Huddo has been grtting more possesions per minute that our other 2 ruckman. Still a mystery as to why Biglands isn't better around the ground considering he has good athletism for a big bloke ... though might be something to do with the area between his ears.

Very true, Kane. IMO its yet another thing that concerns me about our playing list. We seem incapable of finding ruckman who actually contribute outside the centre square. We brought Clarke to the club by offering him a huge salaray, and I can only assume he is on something similar at present. Whilst he is a good tap ruckman, we may as well play with seventeen men once the ball leaves the square. Hopefully Andrews can be a player who gets more ball around the ground, similar to Rehn. Wouldn't be a bad thing if we drafted one at season's end either.

Eh, Mr Fantasia?

Hey Huddo is doin alright! he covers a lot of ground and he gets the hard ball pretty often(mostly as a defender). I think his problem is that noboby kicks it to him when he could be a link man.
I dont think he is quick enough to "get forward".
a couple of full games would help too.

True, jc67, Hudson is doing well at this stage. IMO though, he will never be a starting ruckman, and I hope the AFC doesn't expect him to be.
