Ben Jacobs and the PSD

Jacobs was not traded by Port, despite his wishes for a trade to come home to Victoria.

He would fill a need for the MFC as a strong small defender with talent.

He is 20 years old, and was drafted at pick 16 in 2010.


So he has 2 options -

- enter the PSD

- re-sign with Port Adelaide


The latter option would go against him wanting to come home top Vic. if he enters the PSD the two clubs ahead of us are GCS and GWS, and then us at pick 3.

It's an option no doubt, although if he goes in the ND he will be taken before our next pick after Viney I'd say.

If Neeld wants him, have a little chat and ask him to just do the PSD and than he is ours (if he wants to play for us).

If he nominates for the ND we either don't want him OR he doesn't want us (or stays at port).

Fun fact: we rated him highly in the 2010 and were strongly linked to him....by my count that means he is probably rubbish.

Agree with this. Even with his heart problems he would be well worth a look.
