Surely this question has to be irrelevant.

What if someone laid an fair hit that DID end someone's career, somewhat in the vein of the hit on Kosi last year? Should they be banned from the game forever?

The bump was bad, and it will be penalised as such (I've already said probably deserves 5-6 weeks), but hypothetical discussions about the possible dangers of the bump can't influence the decision.

Do we penalise any charge to the back even further because the guy could have lose a kidney?

Blake Caracella had his career ended by a head high bump and didn't even get a free kick, let alone Notting getting reported.

I wouldn't stress too much. The Pies will probably do better without Johnson - a pretty average footballer. And when you lose, you can use it as an excuse. :)

Can't argue with you there - He's been in terrible form.

Luckily, unlike the Blues, we have to make excuses when we lose, rather than celebrating our draft position.

Depends what they go by.

If it happened during the pre-season when they were cracking down on head high contact as with Michael Johnson and Matty Stokes that would have probably got 4-5 weeks.

During the season they have softened up a bit as with Crowley, Kerr etc but in those incidents the player wasn't really injured at all.

If they want to set an example he could be in for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Who knows, spin the tribunal wheel and see what comes up

Pies fans aren't embarrased by Joffa, as he is a perfect representation of their supporter base. :)

And parrot is the perfect representation of the Carlton supporter base, and indeed the football club as a whole. Goes okay in the preseason and leading to outlandish statements about the quality of their list. The real season kicks in, they play more in line with their non-existent ability and the "Where's parrot/" game begins. We get towards the end of the season and its all about losing on purpose, long term plans and securing draft picks.

So an illegal bump which caused injury, which could have been quadriplegia easily, made your day?

You are one pathetic individual. If that happened to a Collingwood player, no doubt you'd be crying like a baby.

Must admit, Milburn going through Carlton that day was a crack up. Some quality laughs that day. :D:thumbsu:
