If I was a feral criminal I would go visit Ray Chamberlain and Scott McLaren and give them an idea of what PRIOR OPPORTUNITY means, then I would go give Ben Johnson an idea of how it feels to be taken out when you put ur head over the ball. No wonder they have soft w***ers like Didak and Dale Thomas, I wouldn't put my head near Ben 'the spine breaker' Johnson.
 
I was disappointed not to see someone go tear johnson's head off immediately after that. Really disappointed.

I'll be the first to admit pickett is a dirty player with a very bad record. Just like anyone else, he needs to be held accountable for things like this. On and off the field.

I know we are not in a position to point a finger given Byron is on our list however that doesn't change the fact that Ben Johnson could have killed Daniel Bell.

For a player of that experience it's hard to mark it down as merely a 'lapse of concentration'.

I can't be bother calling him names but the 5-6 weeks will be well deserved :)
 
Out of character for him but he deserves a long holiday for it. Brock wanted to smash him everytime he got near Johnson.
 
Why didn't someone break his jaw?

If you get weeks, you get weeks. The season is over anyway. Was hoping that someone would go over to him and smack the f**ker.

However, after that point, the game turned and the boys really put in, so I can't blame them for that.

Fair enough with the criticism of johnson he deserves his whack and all collignwood supporters on our board have said it was a dogs act. I think he could get up to 10. I odubt it was his intention but it was a moment of madness. I fairness to him I dont really ever recall him sniping people in the past. Just a very very very stupid act. But he is not the smartest man going around

I do however wont to take you up on your comment about calling thomas black. I could not possibly believe that after tonights game Melbourne supporters could be calling him soft. Just because someone have a bit of flair does not make him soft. If he is so soft why couldn't mclean(your toughest player) break those tackles? Thomas would have been close to leading 1 %s tonight , he was at the bottom of several packs and threw his very light frame around all night. The dale thomas being soft theory is just about the biggest myth in footy at the moment. Didak I can cop but I suggest you and anyone else who thinks Thomas is soft needs to take a closer look.

Other than that you boys very brave tonight and ours were very very poor.

I think you will find someone tried to. Dont be supprised If an incident gets looked at from the centre bounce when pickett kicked the running goal.

From what I saw (yet to see the TV replay), there were a few jumper punches, bumps, etc... but I was hoping to see someone steam in and knock his lights out.

The fall out from this will be quite interesting.
 
I thought it was interesting that the Melbourne players were happy to shake Johnsons hand after the match....maybe they are not as easily outraged as their supporters..

The hit was illegal...it was reported...he will get a few weeks...

But there was no malice....and luckily from the sound of it no spinal or neck injury to Bell...
 
What Johnson did last night was dumb, stupid and reckless. I don't believe there was any real malice in it, but none the less, if he gets less than 4 weeks then the AFL is a joke. 5 or 6 weeks is what the hit deserved and just hoping that young Bell is okay and not in any serious trouble.
 
Head over ball, front on deliberate contact, got him in the shoulder. 4-6 weeks, probably closer to 6.

Was a legal hit only 18 months ago, Pickett is unfairly criticised for his ferocious attack on the footy and the man playing the footy. I wouldn't call Pickett OR Johnson dirty.

It was a stupid bump, he knew straight away and he'll get the remainder f the season off for his troubles.

Me too Marns. I was seriously hoping that one of ours would be stupid enough to say "Oh well, end of season, not playing for anything" and just belt the living suitcase out of him....and/or Didak and Thomas just for being little ****s.
 
Absolute moron. We should've brought Benny back from the Epworth so he could follow Johnson around and give him some ferocious left hooks. I wanted him to come close to the cheer squuad area so i could give him some hell.

Yes what Ben J did was careless and reckless as everyone has stated. He will pay his dues and whats done is done. You could see clearly after the incident how dissapointed he was in his actions and now he will have to sit out the rest of the season.....and deservidly so.

Melbourne supporters stating that they are dissapointed because none of their players went and SMASHED him or knocked his head of his shoulders is typical of your season....frustrated......get over it....you guys have never shown any support in your players and coaching staff this year so dont pretend to care now.

Low act is Neitz not shaking Maxwell's hand before game in show of good gesture.

I'll think you'll find that the people that post on this website have been sticking by the team all season. I'd say that most people on here have been to every game they could, and are hurting just as much as the players, so don't give me that rubbish about us "only pretending to care now". You joke.

And jesus christ. Who gives a rats if Neitz didn't shakes some tossers hand? He was focused for the game, you moron. It's been a big build up to a very important game is what has been a very lean year. Neitz NEVER interacts with the opposition before the start of the game. Maxwell was naive to think that he could have a chat to a player who is 'in the zone' moments before the opening bounce.

Hey slow down hear Didak reeks of arrogance isnt soft Thomas caught and bullied ypour hard man mclean a good two or three times tonight and Johnosn although the bump was heavy had no intention of breaking anyones spine so get off your ****en high horse and take off the rose coloured glasses dick head if you saw after the game Johnno actually went up to our doc and asked for news on bell, doesnt sound like a prick to me.

You lost the bump was heavy the umpiring was in your favour get ****en past it
