VFL flags in a 6 team comp in 1900-1930 are about as relevant as our VFA flags before we were admitted to the VFL. Ie: they don't count unless you were there to see them.

4:3 in the last 50, 3:2 in the AFL. That is slightly more relevant. Yes you have more fans, yes you're bigger and a good club, but your history is of fraudulence and cowardice under pressure. It's ok, we're worse.

That isn't up for debate. And to suggest your closing in on AFL Flag #4 is pure delusion. You're not.

Again, you got your flag in 2023 and you should cherish it. Because it'll likely be a while before you contend again.

My thinking is Collingwood goes 6 years 10 mill and as a 6 year deal Gold Coast would only be offering 6 years 6.6 mill like deal and Gold Coasts only way to match this is to go towards a 9 year 10 mill deal with King deciding if that extra 3 years at 0 bucks is worth staying in a more settled role for him.

I suspect he doesnt like the 2nd plan and will back himself in to be a superstar capable of earning 1 mill + a year in 2031 so just takes Collingwoods offer

Just want to point out you or me don't know cap situation in both clubs. Interestingly, Suns had higher players turnover in the last 3 years than Eagles which does have impact on cap as more kids make the Suns list (4th youngest).

IMO, it's more about - can Dimma fit them all in. My guess is no. Let's see how King, Walter, JUH perform in 2026. It could be deciding factor.

I think you are right when I think about it more thoroughly. You legit will have 15 players on rookie deals and then guys on lower end deals like Holman, Himmelberg, Graham, Jeffrey, JUH.

Humphrey is interesting one. These day he annoys me based on trade period behaviour, haha.

He sprung it on Suns. They had no idea before trade period. His agent talking about 'Pillar of Moe community' was a joke. I have no doubt Suns would let him go if his supposed family issues were serious and he approached them during season. As it stands his and his friends social media posts were ridiculous and made him look like immature brat. A lot of growing up ahead of him.

Some media (Whiting) predict he could be AA in 2026. If he plays great and team is happy with him will Suns let him go? No idea. It would be probably crazy overs with 3 years to go or Suns would have some A grader in pipeline and need picks.

More I deep dived into it the more I realised Jirik13 is spot on

They have too many players on either rookie deals or low deals to not just match these deals. Its the same place Brisbane is at. Its easy to spend nearly 2 mill on free players when you have the below on rookie wages

Jaspa Fletcher, Sam Marshall, Ty Gallop, Logan Morris, Will Aschroft, Levi Ashroft, Bruce Reville

7 players including the Norm Smith medalist on a base salary of 150k or less is insane... I mean we paid Tim Kelly more money then those 7 players... and people wonder why we won 1 game and they won the flag.

Gold Coast have that same situation. They have 14 players on 150k or less... which is 1 more then the Eagles have

It's true. I'm an SME on Superliga Argentina and fraudulent football teams who's coach is just looking for a new contract, rather than position his club for ultimate success.

Hawforn fans who don't like the truth should probably stick to the Hawforn board if they don't like listening to people who aren't keen on felating middle of the road (and old) Hawks in late December.
