Highlight reel is very so-so, looks more like an opportunist than a playmaker and if you take out the one VFL game against Pies, there is not much there. Have to say I am a bit baffled about this selection. The top 30 of this draft were supposed to be very strong yet we pick a player that we probably could have got after 50! Anyway, if he comes off great, if not then probably not too much damage done.

Low risk high reward type. Has all the tools to make it and you cant teach that type of attack on the ball, you either have it or you dont.

Battle was rated by most to be a top 30 prospect mate, a few thought he was going to the Bombers in the early 20s or a few picks after ours. He was rated around that mark and was the best performed "key forward" of the draft pool, by batting an eyelid I mean in the Long mould who no one on this forum predicted would be taken by us, Battle on the other hand was mentioned fairly often (of course behind the mids like Cox, SPP, Bolton that we wanted).

Well after his six goal game in a prelim VFL final it seems this fella is on the radar..
Anybody know what his exact relationship to Michael is?

Also how old is he and where do some of the experts see him being drafted..Top 30 surely?

A bit like Gavin wanganeen. He wasn't built, but went as hard at the ball as any and never shirked a contest no matter how hard the contact was going to be

I think we need a bit of Daniel Rioli on our list, we have Lones and Jack Sinclair and they aren't even getting games ATM. An opportunist around goals really suits the modern game and I think will really set off what we have already. Post Milne we haven't had anyone really step up so far.

I reckon Minch is in trouble. Wright probably has the speed to be a really pressure weapon. Billings should have break out year IMO>

i think you are right. wright also has the flexibility of being able to play down back

i dont think billing can afford to phone it in/be picked on his draft position though. he's going to have some absolutely fierce competition for his spot now

We need Minch to be putting pressure on our more highly rated players, he keeps them honest and on notice. If he displaces someone then at absolute worst we end up with a good player that does all the team things and allows others to come into the game.
