No loyalty in bball, come to the dons simmo!
Or become a raptor and help us become to gsw of the east!

Would need a lot of time in the gym coming out of basketball. He'd get snapped in half
He’d be one of the strongest in the afl. If he did come to play he would be the greatest tap ruckman ever.

He'll already be worth hundreds of millions by then so the money will start to become negligible
So what?

If you follow the NBA you'd realise how much NBA players care about longevity and leaving a legacy. Star players play well into their 30s to chase rings, records etc. I do not see why Simmons would be any different.

Yep. Too small at the moment, only 208cm and 104kg. Would get ragdolled
You can't just quote height and weight and say he'd adjust overnight to being tackled and smashed around after playing basketball. AFL players have a much different build to basketballers

He will be well into his 30s before hes done with basketball.

Hes not going to come to the AFL at 36, learn the game and then torch his body by getting knees into his ribs and back for a rookie contract.

If he does, he wont be anything special, he will be an athletic novelty and not athletic as he is now. You cant learn to play at a high level overnight, it would take considerable development, that's not going to happen when hes in his late 30s.

You actually need to have football prowess to be a footballer, or learn it, which takes time and years of willing commitment. If being an elite athlete were the only requirement then AFL clubs would just hunt down every African-American who didnt get an NBA or NFL wide receiver contract and turn them into ruck or KPF beasts. It doesnt work like that.

He’s a unicorn as far as basketball ball standards go by being a 6’10 player that can handle the ball like a point guard. His athleticism, skill and size is outrageous. If he came to the AFL he would probably have the best vertical leap, be close to one of the fastest players as well as being incredibly strong. Has really good special awareness and court vision that many credit Pendlebury for and isn’t unfamiliar with the sport. At worst he is a super version of Nic Nat

Wow, Sounds like a weapon, I know there is hype around this kid but I'm not a BBall fan, Will he end up our best ever basketballer?

Aside from KPPs, AFL players are fairly lean. Strength would not be an issue for a guy like him, endurance would.

In footballing terms, you surely mean at best.

Already is our best player ever and it isn’t close with bogut probably a distant second. Has MVP type potential that’s how highly he is rated
Longley?

Longley?
I love the big fella but one of the main criticisms of Nic has being his lack of footy sense outside of ruck craft he’s at his best winning the ball and acting as a bulldozer after the ball hits the deck. Simmons has the physical attributes to best Nic significantly.

And Luc Longley may be our most accomplished player as far as championships go but bogut was a better player and Simmons is better than bogut ever was.

Might be sooner rather than later, NBA career has a lot to be desired at the moment. Has no jump shot in a jump shot league, and had 11 turnovers this morning.

I think he won his clubs b&f playing footy as a junior, and he still has a Footy with him at Philly coz he kicks it around in the gym at times. I’ve seen him showing Embid how to kick etc. I reckon he’d be fine after a bit of re-acclimatising to footy as the guy is a freak athlete and already knows the basics of the game. That’s more than Mason Cox and he’s been valuable to his team.

11 turnovers in 48 minutes?

Would fit right in at the Power.

Simple. He may have been a bad afl player but he’s a quality rugby player...
Folau showed some promise in his first year in the AfL.in the wotst team in the comp.It was his second year if u include his neafl year.Give him six more years of development and he would have been better than the bottom 30-40 talls on AFL lists.
Mason Cox destroyed the favourites for the flags in just his fourth year of playing..Number 1 pick Petracca described Simmons as a freak of an Aussie Rules player. He grew up playing the game a bit and has ten times Coxs skill and atleticism. He would have killed the AFL
