OK... so you made the point that if Sinkers traded places with Duryea he would now be a premiership player...fair enough I think it's a very good point. In agreeing with you I mentioned Turner....again not a star but a premiership player for us... you then asserted that Sinkers is a lot better than Turner was... a debatable point but irrelevant cos you then shot yourself in the foot by admitting you'd never seen Turner play..
I wasn't the one that said sinkers was better, that was a different poster. I have no clue who Turner is. I should have quoted your reply to me instead of your reply to the other poster

Jaimi turner could be compared to jon hassall
Way better than John Hassall. More like Alan Toovey. In any case, he AND his father are Collingwood premiership players which for all their athletic ability is more than the Moores will be able to say at the Christmas table in 20 years.

The REAL question with Ben is - has he already surpassed his father?

The Moores will be able to say they're both dual Brownlow medalists...

Ok peeps. Here's the 411... Sinclair has been a solid contributor for us so far this year. His defence has been great, and his kicking has been pretty reliable. More so than many of our other defenders. He will keep his spot.

HOWEVER, note that he will have at least a few bad games this year where he gets taken to the cleaners. Because that's footy. Do not say that he should be dropped after one bad performance. Pendlebury had a poor game in round one. Everyone has em. So before you come on here to rant and rave in the future, think first; "am I being a douche?" and chances are the answer you'll find is "yes... Yes I am"

I like the sentiment but he's far from an established best 22 player so he can't really afford too many bad games, certainly not in a row or his spot will become under fire from Maynard should he play well in the VFL. But for now he is best 22 without a doubt.

Ive never actually hated on him, and i genuinely rate him as a backman, and have since he first moved there(2013-2014ish?)

Im very disappointed if he still has alot of critics.

Certainly if he plays some in a row and is in a slump then drop him. But if we drop him whilst we keep other people who are simultaneously in slumps then we send a message that we only drop whipping boys.

Sinclair is clearly not a favourite of many. But without him our backline has very little run. I personally cant wait to see him, ramsay and williams play a lot of footy down back together.

How many years has Sinclair been on our list? And still hasn't locked down a best-22 spot? How many other teams would have carried him so long? Its not as though he's a ruckman or KPP option needing time to develop. He's a dime-a-dozen mid/small defender/forward with nothing particularly unique or special.

Collingwood recruits far too many flawed small/medium players in the mistaken belief that we can develop them. We can't! At least not quickly enough to justify the time/resources put into them. We need to stop recruiting development players and start recruiting ready-made footballers who can come in and lock down a best 22 spot within their first two seasons at the club. Leave the development work to the junior clubs and TAC squads.

Was our best player yesterday

evidently his brain has become just a jumbled mass of gooey crap.... but what's new? Rather than suffering from a series of concussions, I'd like to think that Ben is slowly wilting from the razor-edged criticism coming from BF. His self-confidence has been shattered. He is powerless against our forensic analysis of all his many faults. He needs to accept his fate that he will never be a true Collingwood player and he should just remove himself from the list at the end of the year. We will bear him no grudges.....

Are you saying Jordan took a dump in his brain?

What happens in the change rooms stays in the change rooms...but I can see that you want answers to why Sinclair cant hit targets and his general inability to make decisions. We all want answers....but I think it's time for Ben to man-up and just vacate the planet...return to the planet that he came from and stop infecting our team with his hairstyle destroying incompetencies. I think that's all we're asking for...

I do imagine you were just having a bit of fun with this, but ...

I'd say he has, though perhaps not a lot in it at this stage. The father managed 34 games spread over 4 years, with a high of 12 in one season. He looks to have been more of a reserves player, and ended up heading to the VFA. Ben has played 56 games over 6 years, with a top return of 20 games in one season. Indeed, there have been times where he's looked like he could have cemented a spot in the team, only for injury to intervene.

Off-field, perhaps a different matter!
