well what an effin joke. Surely the umpire's would think geez i've marked out this blokes mark a few times today(Weeksy has 20 shots a game) he must have snagged a few??? Kick 12 goals against S'Saye and not poll a vote. And weeksy did it by most clubs dropping a spare man back. Did the umpires take that into consideration?

What's harder to run around on your own in the Midfield(as most blokes do these days) or kick bags of goals with 2-3 blokes up all over you.

Just my opinion

No-one has said Bowe was unworthy. Anyone who gets the umpires' attention to that extent must have done something right, so of course he is worthy. The point is, if a forward kics 145 goals and still can't win it, how is he ever going to? Surely the umpires can expand their thinking just a little bit to notice players at either end of the ground.

Hoops says: "rarely are they aware how many goals a key forward has kicked". What are they aware of - only what goes on immediately in front of them? I'm pretty sure they get the team sheets with results to hand in to the league, so why don't they use this to assist in the process take a moment to check who kicked what?

I know its in a different league, but Josh Bode kicked 31 goals 8 behinds in a game this year for Deni Rovers and got 1 vote in the league!

 Those umpires should never have the privlege of filling out a vote card again.
I just think in a major league even though the quality of backman aren't the same as what they used to be it's a bloody good effort to kick bags of goals continuily and key forwards should have just as much right to win the medal as what on ballers do.

bart would like someone with knowledge to answer the following questions:
1) will saunders get the gissy job, and if so, will that see a return of past premiership players like fitzgerald, sharp, etc etc, or will he not welcome them back after they jumped ship in trying times
2) any truth bowe might be on the move again if the burra win the flag. heard a good on the other day he might he up the calder to his town of birth if they secure a high profile coach
3) will anyone believe Derrick when he says he's retiring for good this time?
4) will Kings Army ever show his face at a Kyneton game ever again after his beloved bulldogs lost to them this year
5) if weeks doesn't get drafted or rookied next year, and kicks 200, will he win the Michelson
6) who will stay/who will go/who will replace in the coaching stakes next year?

- eat my footy shorts -

4) will Kings Army ever show his face at a Kyneton game ever again after his beloved bulldogs lost to them this year (Yes at Gis - not at Stinky Kyneton - No Jimmy = no wins in 2011)
5) if weeks doesn't get drafted or rookied next year, and kicks 200, will he win the Michelson (Not a FF medal)

1) Couldnt see why not, he has demonstarted he wants to coach and that his body hasnt got much left to give
2) Think there will be a large turnover at Eaglehawk so most quality players will field offers (as they do anyway)
3) Heard him linked with Huntly and Pyramid Hill....so.....would play out at either youd think..
4) pass
5)Wont get drafted, wont win the medal...might win the Nalder on GF day..
6) Id suggest Rick Coburn will be the only coach at his club next year......

Paul Eyles will be coach of Castlemaine next year, no doubt.
The season was not a reflection on him, he has worked bloody hard and has a two year deal that will not be broken.

Don't be surprised if Dekka bobs up a bit closer to Bendigo than that..........

Ive heard it from very reliable BFL people that Derrick will be coaching in 2011, but certainly not in the HDFL or LVFL. Not in Bendigo either...make of that what you will.

Get on the square bandwagon, god i hope the boys win again! I'm still undecided as to whether I make the trek back on Sunday or not but I hope they smash South.

Say I would struggle to make it Sunday now the game is the Sunday after the AFL.

Would have gone for the 3rds had the Storm knocked off the Square last week, but those are the breaks.

Will Danny O'bree be lining up this weekend seeing he has missed the last few!!!
Heard he trained all last week and still wasnt pick.

Has a great record or performing in GF's will be his 3 in 4 yrs :thumbsu:

Can Maryborough follow Castlemaine U/16's in flying the flag for country town clubs by winning against more fancied opponents?

... in the Reserves Grand Final?

Going to be a big challenge for our boys.... but we have been the best all year and I expect them to show it again on Sunday and should win by 15 points or so. Hopefully easier so we can enjoy it a bit more!! Be a great reward for Chopper and the boys.

3rds to come up with the chocolates too. Meadey has done a great job with them.

I'm really looking forward to watching the Seniors, Can you sniff an upset? I'm not sure but I think it's going to be a really tight game I give South a geniuene chance this time around.

The performance of Weeks on Sunday is going to be really interesting. It will have a big impact on:

1. The result of the game - If he kicks a bag Square will win - if he is held to 6 goals or less South are in with a show.

2. Whether he gets drafted - if he does kick a bag he would be a real chance.

I hope we can all see a good contest on Sunday.

Weeksy is a gun but from what i have heard its not him that is doing the damage to opposition teams. It is a lot of quality delivery from midfielders! He just does the finishing work of the good play up the ground. In my opinion South's best bet of winning is "up the field" pressure and harrasing the ball carrier to limit the good supply and at least give his opponet some chance of making a contest.

Justin Maddern would actually be a much better chance of getting picked up just quietly.

Great to see Tom Waters from Lancefield signing with Gissy. 22 year old ruckman has already won 2 Bowen Medals. Young gun from the RDFL wanting to test himself at a higher level. :thumbsu::thumbsu:
