Just wondering why a couple of recruits are playing hdfl from huntly and keep there team in the game (well sort of) every week and are not playing BFL? I think one is a strong midfielder who just dominate sand the other a beautiful skilled half -back flanker. Playing in such a shit team and standing out every week. Just wondering why are they not playing BFL?

I'm not in the business of promoting that website, it's certainly not self-promotion given it's Fairfax. That's a match report on a Bendigo FL game - relevant to this forum surely given Gisborne is one of the most discussed teams on here too.

Did Ron Best ever win the goal kicking at the Bendigo Pioneers, NO.

I think it time that we change the goal kicking medal over to the great man....
I think everyone in the league PLAYERS & Supports are on board with this so lets make the change this year..
how good would it be to see 2011 D.Filo get the league goal kicking from Steven Reaper

Speaking of Kyneton good to see the action attraction take over country footy could not find a better CEO. The bendigo league should re name the Ron best medal the steven reaper medal

Talk about a poorly coached interleague side, what did shane page and a few others to do the coach, what cause there not from a bendigo club they will just be overlooked and made to spend more than half the game on the bench, after having 16 poessions in the first half which he really only played just more than a quarter, then giving him a total of 7 mins for the second half, which was deep in the forward pocket, Page was not the only one wither Schultz who i thought was outstanding when on, got minimal game time as well.. No wonder why they were out run in the second half, as good as rosa, bell etc are they were completly out of steam.

So whilst we are changing the leading goal kicking award to the Steven Reaper award, i beleive we might as well appoint him coach of next yrs interleague coach, and put brennan back at Golden Square cause he only real seemed to care about those players yesterday

If Justin Maddern doesn't get a game with the Bombers next week their selection process is an absolute farce and the 'Bendigo' should be removed from 'Bendigo Bombers'.

Well it took another fortnight but Justin Maddern finally got picked and kicked 6 goals for the (Bendigo????) Bombers. Their selectors found out what the rest of the football world already knew about a class player. Ben Duscher went through the same problem last year - a selection process that is a farce. He was so good they made him co captain!

If you are a in-form Bendigo listed player on the Bomber list don't hold your breath while you wait for selection.

Oliver successfully played AFL with Carlton - Reaper never made it to that level so I cannot agree he was a better player.

(This opinion comes from someone who thinks Oliver has a very narrow approach to the health, direction and adminisration of Bendigo football so I am certainly not biased towards him).

For the record Ron Best won the BFNL goal kicking 10 times - that is more times than Reaper and Oliver put together (5 & 4). Around the age of 35 in the 1984 grandfinal, in his final game, he kicked 12 goals for Northern United and destroyed Eaglehawk by himself.

I think if you were lucky enough to see Best play like I did you wouldn't be so keen to rename the Ron Best Medallion.

You're on the ball there, Albury. Unless these guys come from the production line and "tick all the boxes" (many of which have little to do with whether or not they can really play the game), recruiters do not have the vision and clubs do not have the courage to see what else it out there. Maddern, Duscher, Crameri ... all making instant impact at the higher level despite not being previously provided with the opportunity - purely because other manufactured athletes are ahead of them in the queue.

Had the pleasure of taking a walk on queen lizzie yesterday. Surely the league is kidding itself letting sandhurst and south play there next week. Damaged turf due to the fireworks, sparce coverage elsewhere. Surely with a massive redevelopement like this, you want to make sure everything is right. Im no horticulturist or turf doctor, but it looks far from ready for football.

The Pollies are coming to press the flesh and smile nicely for the camera. (Theyll be doing this on the pool side wing where its still green).
