Myers is a massive kick, kicked a 70m drop punt with the breeze

Yeah, that was a pretty big kick, though I would have preffered him play consistently over four quarters...
Even though it would've been hard being in a belted team getting a few touches of the pill...

I was hoping that I'd get some joy in this game after yesterday's debacle but boy there wasn't much too to get you excited.

Daniher - looks ready to play AFL and seems to have the nouse, smarts and the pace to do ok

Myers - Unsighted and looks a fair way off.

Magin - Any more laconical and I'd ask for a drug test to see if he's had a spliff

JJ - Oh dear. Caught a few times holding the ball and looks slow for VFL level.

Bellchambers - Looks really good in the ruck. Any chance we get we should look at bringing him in for Laycock.

Atkinson - Great pace and physicality. Poor disposal and decision making. Looks like there's something to work with there.

Neagle - Was he playing? So far away from AFL standard it's not funny.

Hislop - like he's aggression and tackling. Needs to get better and lift to play AFL.

Daniher should've had 5 goals - Big chance for selection this week.

Bellchambers has a good tap technique but still plenty of work to do around the grounds

Gosh Myers has a booming kick!! You can tell he's going to be a player by his movement, moves out of traffic with ease.

Great win for sandy and i was dissapointed with bendigos skills, they attacked the ball hard but lacked basic skills.

How inconsistant is sautner?
9 goals last week and was missing everything this week.
On this inconsistant form i wouldnt expect another frosty - miller sauts.

daniher --> put him in the team, looks ready to me too
JJ--> got ran down a fair bit but still got a few clearences kicked a goal, i feel for the guy, the game has past him, still solid and offers a bit of depth to the club but thats it
Neagle--> i know shit i was very dissapointed with him, at his age and considering his potential he should be kicking bags and playing good consistanly in the vfl considering that all it takes is one great game for him to be called upon at afl level. How can someone like neagle who could easily get called up to afl level be so disinterested? i mean seriously if that was me i would be putting everything i had into it to get called up to afl level..

hislop--> likewise loved the aggression, however i would like to see him get called up to afl level, he did some good things in and under and i think our side could use more aggression andflare. imo he would offer more to the side then johns, pears, monfries etc

Tell me about Bellchambers. I've really only seen a bit of him in this Bendigo game (I don't get to see much). From what I seen, and that's not a lot, he looks ok. I like his aggression, even off the little I've seen of him I'd drop Laycock for him!

I saw Hislop do a couple of nice things from in-and-under although with the score the way it is he can't have done that much for the rest of the game. I'll be interested to hear your assessment of potenial promotions for next week please... if any. Daniher, Myers etc.

JJ looks slow even in the VFL. Great career is over in 16 weeks.

Since you quoted my post i assume you are asking me about Bellchambers.

I can't really add much as i didn't see him play juniors and today was the first i have seen of him.

Looks to have good tapwork and takes an excellent mark.

His disposal seems quite good, considering he is a ruckman but is quite slow and no real value around the ground.

Hislop is so over rated on this forum it is amazing.

I think it's because he is the type of player we need that everyone is just hoping but he has a very long way to go to become an AFL midfielder.
Not saying he's no good, as i haven't seen enough of him but he is nowhere near the wraps that are put on him yet.

It is such a shame to see JJ running around like he is as he is virtually useless these days and more of a liability which is beneath him imo and i think he should pull the plug now.....Very sad.

Was at the game today.

Spoke to Knighter and I said that "Darcy would have to be a shoe in this week surely Knighter"
he just smiled and laughed and said "he would be going pretty close" Darcy was exceptional today. Very quick off the mark. Played both down forward and back and did very well

Should of said something about Atkinson as well.
This guy has to be elevated this week spesh if Fletcher is out this week.

Bellchambers was good did very well in the ruck.

Dick was quiet

Chartres ran hard off from Saunter but was caught on the rebound a few times but the kid is just learning.

Hislop is a shoe in for next week no doubt about it. His toughness and ability to get the ball is exactly what we need

JJ was his typical self, hard at the ball but bit slow to get rid of it on a few occasions.

Pev was knocked out in the first quarter and didnt return.

Myers was fairly quiet today after all the hype everybody has been giving him.

Neagle isn't fit, needs a few weeks out to get 100%

New kid Williams nothing of him small bloke reminds of Russell Robertson small and has a massive leap, took a nice hanger.

Hooker was also quiet

Be also a worth looking at picking up Hayden Skipworth next year he was also fantastic today

Also was good to see numbers of senior players down there. Welsh,Fletcher,Dyson,Winderlich,Watson,Monfries,Lloyd,Lucas,Gumbleton,
Nash,Johns,Lonegran,Hocking,Houli were all there.

Might sound weird but we didn't play that badly today they were just a lot better coached and well drilled. Some good signs for the future

Agree with that. The look on his face was that of resignation.

We are still paying for Sheedy's mistakes of giving him a 2 year contract, keeping Bolton and Heffernan last year.

I think we should attempt something similar to the Fine Cotton affair and get Skipworth into the seniors. Perhaps make him up to look like Gus. Only problem may be is when he gets more than 5 touches the oppostion may expose the plan. :D

Bellchambers was good did very well in the ruck.

Played against an 18yo and a ******* in Meesen so I would expect him to win but he really doesnt look like he is gonna have an impact in an AFL match for a while yet.

Hislop is a shoe in for next week no doubt about it. His toughness and ability to get the ball is exactly what we need

Completely disagree. First game back after having his arm in a cast and didnt get too many effective disposals. Works his ass off but needs a few more games.

Neagle isn't fit, needs a few weeks out to get 100%

Can anyone explain how he manged to get cramp near the end. He doesnt run.

Only players who'd have any merit in mounting a case for senior selection was Daniher, you may consider Hislop who was pretty good but needs to tone down the agression a bit. Played a pretty good game considering it waas his first game back. Bellchambers is the other after Laycocks dismal display.

Hislop reminds me of Soloman lol.
Has so much agression, probably just needs to tone it down a bit, but that being said he used it to his advantage today in getting the hard ball. Still needs a few weeks in Bendigo, the only person who really pushed for a selection was Daniher.

Was at the game today.

Daniher was great.
Neagle was out of it but he did chase hard at points during the game.
Myers looked like he was expecting too much class from his team-mates, needed to get into it more. Though he was ok though.
Hislop I thought was good. Disposal could be better.
Dick. Horrible. Did hardly anything all day.
Johnson. If only the others had his commitment and work-rate they-d be champions. However his skills really let him down.
Atkinson. Some good runs and good strength.
Magin. Showed a bit today. Most impressive of the rookies.
Bellchambers. Not that impressed really.

Daniher, Hislop and Myers the only ones I'd consider possible to step up. Daniher the only likely one.

Magin the only rookie I'd consider elevating.

You mean someone the same age as Bellchambers?

Does Laycock make an impact? I say try him in the seniors! :thumbsu:

... some rise to the occassion!!! ;)

Correct weight.

Magin. lol
We walked past him yesterday at the MCG before the game. I had to do a double take to make sure it was him. He looks about 15, still a boy.
Hopefully will be player.

Time for Darcy Daniher. Hopefully he will become my second favorite type of Doube D! :p

I think a lot of the wraps stem from his junior form, and he played a pretty good debut game against Geelong last year. I don't think he had much of a pre-season and he just came back from a wrist injury - I'm sure he'll show more once he plays a few more games.
