Just saw some highlights from last week against Tasmania. Kepler Bradley looked very comfortable down forward. Actually saw him kick a drop punt.
Does anyone know how old Aaron Connaughton is because he looks like a fair player

hahah... lets just hope no more injuries... i'd HATE to see jason cloke come up into teh seniors (if he can)

He is 23 in october. To be honest is a bit patchy at VFL level and is no where near AFL level. On his best form he is handy enough in the VFL.
It was hard to look good last week for us given Tassie really didnt put up much of a fight after half time.

That's the problem with highlights, they're just that.

Ant, I disagree.
Connaughton has all the talent to make it at AFL level. He was very stiff not get get drafted out of U18's but the concerns at the time were the durability of his body and those concerns have been justified.

He's got class, he's got smarts and he has skills. Unfortunately his body lets him.

He can still be rookied.

Cant say i remember seeing him play under 18's but i trust your judgment :thumbsu:
As far as his Bendigo games go he has always been solid rather than anythiing else.

I'll put my hand up and admit I haven't seen a lot of Bendigo this year, but in years gone by he's really struggled to play a string of games in a row.

His groins really held him back for a long time.

I know he's highly rated by those that play with him.

i watched the replay last night and basher was great in the second half. he would have to be a certainty to play next week bar an injury today

Agreed, was clearly BOG for mine.

What i liked about his game was that he barely wasted a possesion. What suprised me most was his pace, i never knew he was that quick.

My summarriesd of players:

Lee- Very very very poor, i thought he was going to be a very good footballer but watching that match there is something wrong. Either hes playing injured or hes severely lacking in form. He dropped many kicks that were lace out when in the forward line and also when in backline he was quiet, barely noticeable. Very very worried about that.

Rama- Good without being outstanding. Picked up 20 orr so possesions and kicked a goal. Also had a few assists.

Houli- BOG for mine, ran hard and took a few very good marks and as i mentioned before his pace suprised me. His skills were imaculate.

Bradley- Was ok i can see why he didnt get a game on the weekend. Basically he still makes far too many errors. His foot skills were poor as well, he rarely found someone with his kick. Kicked one nice goal when he handballed in front of himself and slipped a Moran tackle. and then picked it up and goal from 40 m.

Gumbleton- Impressive, only played 60 minutes but was very good. Took some very nice marks indeed. 2.2 From 8 kicks 4 handballs and 6 marks.

Cole- Was good, provided run. I suspect he might've gotten a game next week if it wasnt for his sheer stupidity.

Dyson- Good probably in the top 4 players. Used the ball well but i'd still like to see him do more to be honest.

Heff- Ok game, not much to report.

Hislop- Tough tackling game. Had 21 possies and kicked a goal. Needs to be able to get more "easy kicks".

Jetta- While he didnt get alot of the ball (probably about 10 possies). Everything he did was a class above everyone else on the ground.

Lonergan- Good game, good at winning the ball in close and his kicking waas better than i thought. Would be in contention if i was a selector. Also had abouyt 19-20 touches.

NLM- Rusty but was good enough to suggest hes not too far off senior footy.

Monfries- Had 18 possies and 3 goals, was good but i'd like him to win more of it.

Reimers- Solid game, looks a good player.

Chartres- Reminds me a bit of Kepler, looks a bit clumsy at times. But works hard and doesnt make as many mistakes as Bradley.

Hocking- Im impressed, was tagging Ken Hall and was able tin a fair bit of the ball himself.

I watched the game this morning and will have another look at it (havnt run through all the stats yet) but from what i was counting Bradley didnt have that many mistakes. There was one handball to Monfries under pressure which Gus dropped anyway. Got caught holding the ball once. As far as his kciking goes i didnt notice too many direct turnovers and he wasnt any worse than a number of players who didnt hit targets on the full.
Wasnt quite the form he showed a few weeks ago but he was still solid enough.
