Carn the bombers..

It's funny. Bendigo are in much the same position as Essendon. Win this game and they are most likely going to be sitting 8th.

Houli stars in Bendigo win

The Bendigo Bombers are still in the finals’ contention after scoring an excellent 49-point win over Williamstown at Windy Hill this afternoon. A dominant midfield was the key to Bendigo’s win with Kepler Bradley the star up forward kicking five goals.

Youngster Bachar Houli was among the best players on the ground racking up a game-high 38 possessions. It was a performance that will have caught the eye of the Essendon match committee.

Mark Johnson (37) and Scott Camporeale (36) won plentyof the ball as did Heath Hocking (26) and Chris Heffernan (26). Up forward Bradley was outstanding kicking five goals and Jay Neagle also showed some encouraging form kicking three goals and taking some strong marks. Mark Bolton also kicked three goals.

Jason Johnson missed the game with groin soreness but he is expected to be back next week.

Great game for Bachar :thumbsu:

Also great game for Mark and Scott - i think Campo will be back for that Carlton game :D

also, any news on Heath being promoted?

Scott Camperalle – Very good game. Was used as the play maker and used the ball very well . Kicked a couple of long goals at crucial stages in the last half. One of our better players.

Mark Johnson – Played in the middle today and was in excellent touch. Ran hard and presented when we really needed him . Got a heap of the footy and was close to our best.

Leroy Jetta – Nothing special from Leroy today. Hardly got a touch and didn’t really run much at all . He was playing on Daniel Nicholls and he let him run off and get plenty of kicks . Very disappointing. Wouldn’t get a game on this effort.

Courtney Dempsey – Didn’t do a lot of work as expected for his first game back. When he was on he was creative and got a few touch’s . Good enough first up effort.

Kepler Bradley – He had a patchy start in the first half . He presented well at times but also got caught behind a few times which was disappointing . His second half was excellent . Got to the front position took plenty of grabs and kicked straight . Ended up with 5 goals from CHF .

Courtney Johns – Once again he was a solid performer but still continues to make the same mistakes . Gets caught a few meters behind his opponent . Played on Ben Reid for most of the game who didn’t kick a goal so Johns was effective in that aspect . Just needs to work on not letting his man getting a 3 or 4 meter break and he has to stop wandering around the ground like a meandering river.

Mark Bolton – Another good game from Bolts . As usual he presented well and he got plenty of the footy . Kicked a couple of good goals . Still manages to make the same Bolton moments but he was pretty good today.

Chris Heffernan – Good game from Heff . Was very good through the middle and won plenty of footy .

Andrew Lee – Wasn’t a standout but it was a better game from him this week. . When he was up forward he took a few good grabs and kicked a couple of goals and he was pretty solid in defence. Much improved.

Jay Neagle – Good first quarter where he took a couple of strong marks and kicked a couple of goals . Was pretty quiet for the rest of the game but still managed a few more good marks and a last quarter goal . Nice enough effort for his first senior Bendigo game for a long while.

Heath Hocking – Was used in defence and the midfield today . He was solid enough in defence keeping his opponent out of the game . His kicking was average early on but when he was playing on the wing he was good hitting targets up forward a few times. Kicked a good goal when he was resting up forward late in the game. He was good but maybe not quite enough to garb a senior spot this week.

Danny Chartres – Had to rotate in the ruck and FB today . Was reasonably good but had a couple of turnovers .

Bachar Houli – Excellent game today . His disposal was a lot sharper and he was very good at making the play. Unlike previous weeks he finished the game well and he looked like he really wanted to play seniors on today’s effort. Great game.

Of the Bendigo players Jolley was good tagging in the midfield.
Cloke played his usual good game.
Atkinson showed good dash out of defence.
Weeks was quiet but took his chances up forward when he was on the ground.
Coghlan was ok.
Maher was ok.
Plummer was very good in the ruck.

He was also pretty good against Sandringham a few weeks back. Any chance of getting put on the rookie list?
