I was certain the goal was against collingwood, I need to stop drinking at games....
You were wrong as Collingwood never got that close to us last season...:D
I hope you didn't abuse Joffa at that game:thumbsu:
As for Pfeiffer... no chance, both he and Bentley with their respective skill issues will be nothing but list cloggers.

Sauce and Garlett prior to Rd1
Joseph - Rd12

Agree with Bentley being a list clogger, poor kicking, slug and doesn't have that quick thinking footy brain.

We have Hadley to be our in and under guy, who shows more class and poise than Bentley - Hadley is the hard nut, not some dude from South Australia who strung 21 games in 3 years at Port.

Even though he has done some nice work through the pre-season, I just don't think he is the sort of player that we are in dire need of, especially if Hadley can stay on the park this year.

For mine, i'd nominate AJ and Jacobs prior to the season starting, and then re-eveluate after round 12. I do really like the look of Garlett, but have some issues over his body size, and would like to see how he goes with the Ants before we promote him.

As much as I like the guy -

Aaron Joeseph has become the most overrated player on this board since Saturday night.

Fair call, but sometimes all you need is to be given your opportunity, and who knows what can happen. You know that you will always get 110% from him, and to mind someone of Ablett's ilk is no mean feat.

Bentley's strengths:
Extreme Composure
Great Overhead
Clean by hand
Good in tight, and strong over the ball.

Bentley's Weakness's:
Speed
Average Kick

He is an AFL quality player and you will see him dominate at VFL level if he isn't in your senior side.

He started as a HFF in our side and was instantly recognised as an up and coming talent almost winning a rising star nom, but due to Mark Williams's penchant for speedy players he was soon seen as a depth player who had to be moved on.

He has played barely any footy at AFL level yet and has a heap of development in him yet.

I can understand some of the negative comments but if I was you guys I'd be stoked you picked him up because he will be of some serious value to your side.

I hope somebody can help, I have been hunting around for the answers.

If we elevate a rookie can they only play a senior game if we move a player onto the long trem injury list?

Because we dont have senior rookies does this allow us to automatically play some of our elevated rookies? What is this round 12 situation?

Was named as an emergency 2 years ago for Port in the GF against Geelong, so Obviously the guy has some talent, but reminds me alot of AB.

While they technically were a GF side, they were the single worst GF side in the history of the game. Look through the 22 that lined up that day - not too impressive (as far as GF sides go).

Can't kick, ordinary ball handling, not all that quick... And promoted ahead of Jacobs and Joseph and Garlett? Are they kidding!

That's my opinion as well....

J, you are right.... he has been consistent in all of the above areas :)

We beat Port that year :D

Who cares who's ahead between Bentley and Pfieffer? Far as I'm concerned, neither has much chance of playing a game in season 2009.

Gartlett, Jacobs and Joseph all offer more.

Gartlett for sure... has shown a enough in the 3 pre-season matches.

We don't need another ruckman on the list with Cloke, Hampson, Kruezer and Warnock (once he's fit).

And Joseph is yet to prove himself with the other players on the list who play a similar type role.

I'm still undecide who should fill the second rookie spot.

Actually we do need another ruckman on the list, because Warnock won't play seniors until mid-year & Cloke will spend most of his time in the forward line. That leaves Kreuzer & Hampson to carry the rucks until Warnock is ready.

Jacobs has done enough during the pre-season to suggest he will go close to breaking even with most opposition rucks & will be a handy stop-gap until Warnock is fit. It would be a shame to see too much pressure put on Kreuzer & 'Hammer' at this stage of their development.

I disagree with your summary on Jacobs MS.

I think Jacobs does pretty well with the ruck contests but he still has a long way to go with everything else...
