Bert Newton buys Fitzroy's 1944 premiership cup

At a private function last week involving the sale of Old football stuff the 1944 Premiership cup which was Fitzroy's last was brought for $6500 by Bert Newton,

Seeing as Bert Newton didn't renew his financial membership in 1996, but can spend that sort of money now? Where is his priority.

According to the Fitzroy club, no membership was renewed for a lot more years than 1996.

There seems to have been a lot of unregistered trolling going on here last night. Someone must have been overwhelmingly bored. Oh well.

Anyway, as we all know, there was no Premiership Cup in 1944.
