Dean Cox would have to be considered. He took rucking to a whole new level. Borderline choice.
Pendles a top 10 player ever? Turn it up.
Gaz Jr, Judd and Buddy are the only candidates imo. Maybe Fyfe when he's done.
Keep your Geelong wank fest to yourselfI strongly disagree.

I rate blokes like Milburn and Enright higher. But that's my opinion. You know, I get the feeling sometimes that posters like you think Geelong fluked three premierships, because other than GAJ (who only played in 2 of the recent 3) the other team members were average ordinary players according to you.
As another poster (who is not a Geelong supporter) put it, Scarlett changed the way KPD's play. He is probably the only key backman I know who was ever tagged by an opposition player to quell his attacking game. Matthew Lloyd ranks him as the toughest full back he played on. And 6 AA selections, including selection in 2003 when the Cats were an average team did not come by chance.
I can't put Cox ahead of Farmer, so one must see whether or not Farmer gets in first.
Scarlett played alongside Ablett, Enright, Johnson, Bartel and other top liners. In Pavlich's prime he had the likes of Bell, Grover, Carr and Black. No where near the same league.
My father is in his 70s and puts Farmer behind Matthews only. So ahead of Carey and Barassi and Whitten and all the others from the 50s onward who he saw play.
Cox completely dominated the game but Farmer completely changed the game.
So your criteria for Judd to be top ten is to be our best and rated ahead of say, Nicholls, Kernahan, Doull, Silvagni and Jesaulenko?Really to be in the running for top 10 of all time, hed need to be the best ar carlton or west coast for a start.
Is he?
Bit of a stretch to say he was as skilful as those players listed. Scarlett was a great player, but why are most neutrals disagreeing that he is anywhere near a top 10 status. And he was probably the most skilled of the lot of them. Can't say that for many other full backs.
With Scarlett it wasn't just the spoils, outmarking or the run off the backline, but people try to lessen the comparison to that when they compare him.

Saying that Scarlett changed the way a defender plays is also a stretch, there were attacking defenders well before Scarlett.
Exactly. He was a great and important player for Geelong.Bit of a stretch to say he was as skilful as those players listed. Scarlett was a great player, but why are most neutrals disagreeing that he is anywhere near a top 10 status.

Who Mitchell? Don't think he comes close either sorry. If you are talking Mitchell you need to bring Voss into discussion and I rate Voss higher.Exactly. He was a great and important player for Geelong.
Josh Gibson has been huge for Hawthorn in our threepeat having won our club B&F in 2 of the 3 years. Has been an incredible combatant playing on guys bigger than him, having the nous to know when to break away and go 3rd man up, and on many an occasion has been instrumental in providing rebound from defense with plenty of games with high stats.
Not going to see any Hawthorn posters throw his name up here though as being a possible top 10 of all time. Yet we're ridiculed for even suggesting that our best player of the last decade and arguably one of the best centremen of the past 2 decades should only be part of the discussion.
Definitely notwould you really include corey enright in a top 10 all time list

its annoying really probably the best kick on both sides ever.Aker was a more damagining player than Voss. And is generally undervalued because he is a nob of a bloke, not because he lacked skills.
Yeah Mitchell. And I actually agree, great player but not top 10 of all time. But certainly more worthy of being in the discussion than a lot of names being thrown about here.Who Mitchell? Don't think he comes close either sorry. If you are talking Mitchell you need to bring Voss into discussion and I rate Voss higher.
I would compare him to Woewoden and brad hardie

We didn't put Williams in the top five because he didn't play enough games.
Would love to see Hawthorn's best five or six if you wouldn't put Judd on par with Tuck, Platten and your mids who aren't Leigh Matthews.
Salmon made your team of the century.
Priddis #1I would compare him to Woewoden and brad hardie
