Only Scarlett and Ablett would be in the top 100 of all time, with Enright in the discussion.

Corey Enright has been a very good solid footballer, but you're confusing games played with actual skill.
I could name 100 but right now ill name 10 off the top of my head that aren't playing currently that would be ahead. Mind you theres still probably 40 players playing better than Enright.

Richardson, McLeod, Wanganeen, Buckley, Voss, Hird, Harvey, Kouta, Lloyd, Black, Crawford. Hell thats 11 without even thinking that are not currently playing.

I'm not, I'm just saying guys like that dont make the top 100 all time.
He's a good player, a flanker, that was very lucky to be in a great side and that his body held up (Enright).
Mitchell isn't top 100 all time either. If you assume that there's probably 13 players per decade that get in the top 100. Is mitchell in the top 13 players to play in the 2000s? or the 2010s? That's assuming only 8 decades (so not including anyone before the 50s). Close maybe, but doesnt make it for mine.

He's 8th for games played, in one of 23 players to have won multiple B&F's, twice All Australian. Without doing a list I think he'd fall somewhere between 60-80 in Geelong's history.

Think of it this way, Adelaide have been around for 25 years, if Joel Corey was an Adelaide player, where would he rank?

Obviously behind Mark Ricciuto, Andrew McLeod and Ben Hart.
Darren Jarman was a wizard, so I'd have him ahead also.
Add in Simon Goodwin, and you have only 5 players in Adelaide's history who could be considered better than Corey. (Dangerfield would have, but obviously he left)
Now Corey wouldn't rank at 6 for Geelong in the last 25 years, but you need to take into account Geelong have been much more successful than Adelaide in that period.

So if Corey ranks 6 in a 25 year block, in 150 years of football it's safe to bet he'd fall somewhere between 35 and 50 at Adelaide.

What about Baldock, Whitten, Pratt, Coleman, Dick Reynolds, Laurie Nash, Haydn Bunton. There is an endless list of exceptional players over the history of the game.

Thats what it comes down to though, you're not comparing him to Adelaide players, which you have pretty accurately identified.
You're comparing to Geelong, and Corey doesn't even fit in the top 5 of his premiership classes. Bartel, Enright, Selwood, Ablett, Scarlett, Johnson etc are all far ahead, and we're talking about a 5-6 year period here. Thats not even taking into account guys like Ablett Sr, Garry Hocking and Paul Couch in the early 90s. Also Cameron Ling is a tough one given his role, where does he fit....IMO above Corey.

As a side note you MAY want to include Modra in there too. Hard to compare a flanker to a pure full forward but he kicked 500 goals in 160 odd matches.
Also Joel Corey would fall behind Tyson Edwards too. He was hugely underrated and played 50 more games than Corey.
Nigel Smart was also 270 games 3 All Australians (very similar record to Corey).

That's all true. I have him behind all the players you mentioned, and Paul Chapman.
But this is the 2nd most successful period in Geelong's history. More players from this current generation would make Geelong's top 100 than any other generation. (Out most successful period was the 1879-1886, but it's pretty tricky to rank those players).

I don't want to do a list, as I honestly can't be ****ed, but he wouldn't end up outside the top 100.

I have Corey marginally above Edwards and Smart, and didn't know where to place Modra, because he only played about 120 games with Adelaide. He probably would go ahead of Corey though.

Ablett's years have been a LOT better than Buddy's.
Ablett was AA for 8 years straight. Buddy only 5 of those years, arguably in an easier position to make given the lack of quality tall forwards around and them often picking 3 of them in one side.

As I said if Buddy has another good few years, then he can be talked about in that same breath. But at this stage he's no Ablett (Junior or Senior)

Yeah fair enough. We'll agree to disagree, but its nice to have an intelligent discussion for once.

Modra is a tough one. Cant help but feel if he didn't do his knee he'd be a 2x premiership player, probably 6 or 7 time AA and a 200 game player. A lot more people would remember him for his performances rather than his highlights.

People seem to be forgetting that Fyfe is only 24yo and he already has a brownlow as well as 2 mvps and 2 bnfs. If he manages another brownlow in the next 2-3 years then you will have a guy entering his physical peak already holding 2 brownlows. The record number of brownlows is 3 so I think it's hard to rule out of Fyfe as being a top 10 player all time at this young age. He probably needs to win at least 1 premiership as well so we will see how that goes.

Judd and Ablett seem to have changed people's perception of the Brownlow. Winning two is extremely rare and it's not a given Fyfe will win another. There's plenty of good players competing against him, he could be injured etc. I'll start thinking about Fyfe in the top 100 after a couple more years of those things you mentioned happen.
 
Pressure on the ball carrier is at an all time high, this days of yore stuff equates guys that had very little pressure on them with guys that have. They had no subs and fewer rotations in the past but unfortunately these legends never stood up to the tests modern day players do. Putting GAJ behind them with all he has achieved in this era is nonsense.
