Added Phillipou because he's been a hybrid tall who has played as a fwd. Agree that his midfield time this year will make him less likely to be dropped.

So its between Owens and Sharman to make way for the two rucks and King.

Choosing between Daniher or Marshall to play as a key fwd who can contest a few ruck contests would be a no contest - Daniher by miles.

Hipwood averages 1.4 goals over 200 games. I'd be rapt if our second tall fwd could deliver anything like that on a consistent basis. (Currently Sharman 1.1 Owens 1.0)

As for successfully playing two rucks along side King - not sure when that happened certainly didn't happen in 2024 when King last played.

Was interesting to see Marshall sitting on the bench early in the first qtr of the practice match shaking his head in absolute bemusement.

Owens and Sharman have been playing in an ordinary side..see how they go this year..

It happened the majority of the time Paddy Ryder was on our list. Our win loss ratio was always better when we had the two rucks playing in that period and it was the last time we won a final.

Looked like we managed Marshall pretty well on the weekend. Weird that he would be upset about a rotation?

It literally could have been many things he was miffed about.

King, Marshall and Ryder played together quite a bit from 2020-2022, a lot of the time with Membrey in as well.

So King, Marshall, De Koning and Sharman could totally work, and Owens is a different beast as well. With five on the bench, I don't see the issue with having nearly all of the game with one of them in the ruck, three on the ground and one on the bench.
