Duigan reminded me of how important he is to our defensive line. He adds courage and toughness to the group, even if his left boot his horrible!

I reckon Collins might get a gig Round 1 as the sub

Had him as Sub but then thought back to last year and not sure Ratts will introduce him that way this time round after the affect it had last year. .. Would make a solid Sub though. ..

You guys have been woeful so far in 2012. I know you will say it is only NAB games, but the real season is on soon. I noticed you have not won a game with Mclean in the side as expected that most likely carry in the real season. The problem with Carlton is who will stand up as a forward? We all know Eddie Betts can but that about it and he can not do it all being small. Andrew Walker needs to prove he can do it again 2 years in a row as he really has not done this at AFL level so far.

Bret Thornton is your club best bet as his proven it down back for many years and can play forward. Shaun Hampson still struggle major big time while Casboult will be lucky to play any games if any from the looks of him playing. This Sam Rowe is to early to tell but does not look all that good, there is similar players playing WAFL. Jarrad Waite is again your key man but with 37 of a possible 71 games it does not look good. It does not look like anything will change to a aging body of a player that has been injured every year.

I read Malthouse review on Carlton how they need to stop talking up Chris Judd like how they did with Nathan Buckley. They were both great players but can not win flags without more in put on upcoming midfielders. This is guys like Gibbs, Russell, Yarran and Lucas pulling their finger out this year.

We may have seen the best of Judd so players need to lift 100%

Carlton training reminds me of the Fremantle Dockers, they trained in hard condition then when it come to the season they were stuffed.

All the best for 2012, could be a tough year if certain players do not lift.

I agree questions of our forward line are warranted. But your analysis is a bit off. We aren't looking for a cloke, kennedy, brown. We have a forward line whith three 50+ goal kickers from 2012.

We were exposed last year by quality tall defenders.(reid, glass, scarlett, hunt, gibson) We will look to draw even in this area in 2012. We prefer the ball to hit the ground so if we find a player that can draw the aerial contest 5 times out of ten and win 2, then we will have all the answers when the ball hits the deck.

Yep thats pretty good

Bower, Ellard, Joseph and Armfield unlucky, although Armfield vs bulldogs was pretty bad

Given your "grasp" of the English language, I'm going to cut you some slack, since you're obviously not playing with a full deck.

Take your single digit IQ back to your own board you spud.

The real season has not begun, as you rightly state. What then is the cause of all this anguished "woe" on our behalf? Save it for some really lost causes - like the Hawthorn ruck.
I noticed you have not won a game with Mclean in the side as expected that most likely carry in the real season.
Sssh. Don't tell anyone, but, we haven't won a game with any of our players in the side. Perhaps we should leave them all out and just let the Hawks and other teams beat themselves. Is this your logic?

The problem with Carlton is who will stand up as a forward?
Haven't you already decided we can't win a game with McLean? Surely that is the problem.
We all know Eddie Betts can but that about it and he can not do it all being small. Andrew Walker needs to prove he can do it again 2 years in a row as he really has not done this at AFL level so far.
Um, Garlett and Kreuzer say Hi.

Bret Thornton is your club best bet as his proven it down back for many years and can play forward. Let me understand T bird is our "best bet", Waite is our "key man", Eddie can stand up (implied), you have forgotten Garlett and Kreuzer and concede that the forward line is so strong Casboult will be lucky to play any games. And the forward line is our problem? Go figure.

You can read? Good on you. So can we. You reckon 1 great player does not win flags on his own? An impressive conclusion. But do tell, who are the upcoming midfielders we have who are like Gibbs, Russell, Yarran and Lucas that need "to pull their fingers out" as you so elegantly express it? I thought they were pretty unique.

We may have seen the best of Judd so players need to lift 100%
On the other hand you seem to have conceded that we may not yet have seen the best of Judd, in which case according to you, presumably, other players do not need to lift at all.

Carlton training reminds me of the Fremantle Dockers, they trained in hard condition then when it come to the season they were stuffed.
Your cross-continental training notes are no doubt a best seller, somewhere. Thanks for sharing them.

All the best for 2012, could be a tough year if certain players do not lift.

Yeah, but I am more worried by the uncertain ones. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and good wishes.

Without Walks, Laidler and Warnock...

Duigan, Jamison, Thornton
Yarran, Henderson, Tuohy
Simpson, Scotland, Lucas
Gibbs, Waite, Garlett
Hampson, Rowe, Betts
Kreuzer, Judd, Murphy

Carrazzo, Robinson, Curnow, McLean/Collins(s)

Collins most likely. Gibbs also spending time forward to make sense of the whole deal.

You just wonder when the quad got worse for Walker.
I wondered what was going on after his first left foot kick on Saturday.

I think you are right about Collins.

Could be his best opportunity to crack the 22 IF Walker is hurt.

If these guys dont play round 1: Jamo, Walker, Robinson, Laidler, Warnock

Touhy: Henderson: Duigan
Bower: Thornton: Scotland

Yarran: Curnow: Simpson

Gibbs: Waite: Collins
Betts: Hampson: Garlett

Kreuzer: Judd: Murphy

Carrazzo: Lucas: Russell Sub Mclean

We'll lose some mobility if Levi comes in for Walker.

True, but having Waite back will offer some mobility? Stick Levi at FF, and let Jarrad run around CHF.

Can't see it Toad, but who knows.

Unfortunately these constant injuries have just taken a little gloss from the season I was looking forward to.
We looked just so primed on the track and only I few weeks ago, I commented on just how good it was to have all the boys, bar O'Keeffe mobile at the one time.
Boy has that truned around.

Anyway, it is what it is and I'm sure I'll find some renewed enthusiasm soon enough.

Should I say it.......................Jinx.

Would you have Rowe and Levi in the same team?
