The Gov, surely. He's a v good kick. Real tall, too

Yeo's kicking has been very inconsistent from what I've seen. His best is very good, but he's prone to spraying them too.

I'll pay McGovern.

So this is what it feels like when doves cry?

Like Sydney and Hawthorn..oh I forgot they don't count because they won the last 2 Premierships I guess.
Yeah. So we should just do that. Easy, right?

That said, which "classy senior" did Sydney "recruit on big bucks" for their last flag?

Their 2012 premiership team is here.

Let me guess..."its too hard" or "Can't" or even "I quit" would be common everyday words used in your vocabulary right Ian ?

That's a weird segue. Do you have an actual argument here?

I asked you a question about which "classy senior" Sydney recruited on "big bucks" for their last flag. Can you answer that question or would you prefer to pull some nonsense out of your arse and move on quickly?

If you think it's so straightforward for us to go and poach an established, top-line midfielder, be specific. Tell me who we'd target. Because apparently it would be "a simple fix". Isn't that what you're saying? With some vague reference to Hawthorn and Sydney thrown in for reasons unclear.

Sydney have had no problems attracting star players over the years, do I need to mention Lockett and in latter years McVeigh, Kenendy and Mumford who are all premiership players in 2012 for the Swans. They also managed to attract ( not develop ) players like Shaw, Mattner and Richards to the club over the years who contributed also to their flag. Hawthorn do it well ( better than most ) by snagging players like Lake, Gunstan, Gibson, Hale, Burgoyne and Guerra to win a flag.

I don't know how you can continue your stupidity ? But I will go on just to give you the benefit of the doubt...we could easily target players like Omeara, Swallow, Prestia, Martin or Bennell from GC and before you start a rant about them being contracted as your final deflection I'm not talking about winning a flag yesterday its about having a medium term goal of winning one in the next 3-5 years.

McVeigh was a draftee. Kennedy and Mumford weren't getting games at Hawthorn and Geelong respectively. Shaw, Mattner and Richards were hardly star players either, they were spare-parts players. Haven't you criticised us for stocking up on other side's unwanted players in the past?

Got me beat why the club hasn't thought of this. All they need do is just give one or all of those guys a quick call and say "we wants youse to come play the football for us and we'll give you the big bucks".

Simples.

Lockett didn't play in a flag so why is it relevant? That's not the scenario you introduced.

Also, McVeigh was drafted by the Swans, so it's incorrect to mention him.

Kennedy and Mumford, while recruited from other clubs, weren't stars when they moved. They weren't "classy seniors" lured by "big bucks", which is what you're talking about.

If anything, Kennedy and Mumford are examples of the Swans identifying guys who weren't getting opportunities at their existing clubs. But your argument is that we should chase a readymade top-liner as a "simple fix". So those examples don't really work for you.

They also managed to attract ( not develop ) players like Shaw, Mattner and Richards to the club over the years who contributed also to their flag.
Again, see above.

Shaw was finished at Collingwood and Richards was on the outer at Essendon.

Admittedly, Mattner was a required player at Adelaide but he's not the kind of player you're talking about WC recruiting. He was a role player.

You're arguing we should go and poach a top-liner as a "simple fix" but these Sydney players are not examples of that. The Swans did something quite different.

I don't know how you can continue your stupidity ? You said we should recruit "classy seniors" on big bucks as a "simple fix". I'm just wondering what that actually looks like. If it's so simple, go ahead and lay it out.

For the players above, firstly, they aren't "classy seniors". They're young guns. Secondly, how much of a "simple fix" do you think it will be to get one of these guys? As you've observed, most of them are contracted for the forseeable future so how's that going to work? What do you think it would take to get O'Meara back to WA? How "simple" do you think that would be? Not all, I'd suggest.

So don't accuse me of stupidity when all I'm doing is pointing out that poaching a top-line midfielder is unlikely to be the "simple fix" you suggest it would be. You then tried to be a smartarse by sarcastically asserting that this is what Sydney have done en route to winning a flag. Again, I've simply pointed out that this is not the case. Basically, you should stop staying stupid things.

Players like JON, Cale Morton and Dick yes I did. I'm talking about grabbing someone who would lift our midfield, like when teams like Carlton target an opposition player they go ruthlessly after with big bags of cash ( Daisey was lured this way ). This argument ( sarcasm ) that don't you think we aren't trying ? I say probably not as we have not managed to land a big fish for a while. We've managed to snare some minnows though. 1 Million a year for Trent Cotchin after 2015 when he realizes Richmond are not going to bring him a flag could be an option - he would be 25 then.

We currently have Yeo, Bennell, Ellis, Cripps and Wellingham who are all playing regular senior football for us at the moment.

Yes Carlton did lure Thomas under free agency but it took a long term deal on big money for a guy who had barely played football for a couple of years and who's best football is likely behind him.

As for Cotchin even if we could convince him to come play for us, which is unlikely, we would have to find a suitable trade for Richmond at the time

You criticise us for only landing minnows and not a "big fish", one post after listing Mattner, Richards, Mumford, Guerra, Hale, Shaw, Lake etc etc as an example of what you think we should be doing?

Well Ian Dargie would have us quit right now and not bother, all I say is target our man and romance him with delusions of sun, surf and cash.

OK, so what would be the "simple fix"?

Is getting Cotchin from Richmond your example?

I haven't said anything to that effect. I'm just not silly enough to characterise trading for a top-liner as a "simple fix".

As for "sun, surf and cash", I'm pretty sure they have those on the Gold Coast as well. Or do you reckon Perth is the only city in Australia with beaches?

Instead of making up bullshit, why don't you tell us who we should target for this "simple fix"?
